NFL Week 12 Sunday Night Football Preview: Packers look to wrap up NFC North against Bears

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers runs during game against Chicago Bears

Sunday Night Football Week 12 Matchup – Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers

November 29, 2020, 8:20 pm EDT, Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin.

The Green Bay Packers are 7-3 and in first place in the division, but they’re coming off a disappointing loss to the Colts in overtime. They’ll have a chance to get that bad taste out of their mouth here, and a chance to essentially wrap up the NFC North. If they win this game, they’ll be three games up on second place with only five left to play entering Week 13.

The Chicago Bears on the other hand have been in absolute free-fall recently, losing four straight games after starting the year 5-1. Nick Foles got hurt in their last game before their bye, and it looks like Mitchell Trubisky is going to make his triumphant return to the lineup after a benching and subsequent injury of his own.

Sunday Night Football Betting Odds & Lines Preview

This line will be interesting to watch, as the Bears’ quarterback situation was up in the air for much of the week. After Trubisky was announced as the starter, the line settled just a hair under double digits at 9.5 points in favor of the Packers. Trubisky hasn’t played in a while and the Bears have looked terrible recently, so that isn’t too surprising to see. It probably would be slightly less with Foles out there, although not by a ton.

The total also has ticked down a touch down to where it stands at 44.5. Given how the Bears’ offense has looked in recent weeks, that’s understandable. They’ve only topped 17 points once in their last four games, and who knows what Trubisky will look like after all the time off. Their defense on the other hand has remained one of the league’s best units, so it’s not too surprising oddsmakers are expecting a defensive struggle here.
