Top Sleepers For The Masters 2024

Picking the best Masters sleepers for 2024 could bring you a nice win with a small wager! Several highly ranked golfers have +4000 odds or longer to win in Augusta this year. These underdogs provide an opportunity to turn small bets into huge payouts if they pull off an upset at Augusta this April.

Still, If you want to play it safe and focus on the favorites, check our predictions for The Masters 2024. If you intend to be more adventurous, I have a list of underdogs who have a chance to shock the world at the first major tournament of the year, despite the long odds.

Without further ado, here are the best sleepers for the 2024 Masters!

Dustin Johnson (+4000)

Dusting Johnson definitely deserves a spot on my list of sleepers to win The 2024 Masters. The 39-year-old won this tournament in 2020, claiming the second major title of his career. Johnson’s first major was the U.S. Open in 2016, which he won by three strokes in controversial fashion.

Johnson’s long drives have been the key to his success in the past. If he gets hot and drives the ball well in Augusta this year, the former winner will have a great shot a second Masters title. An early lead could help take the pressure off and allow Johnson to deliver his best game.

He failed to do that last year, which is one of the main reasons why the veteran is ranked so low in the current odds. Johnson barely made the cut and finished tied for 48th place, a significant fall from his 12th-place finish in 2022.

The poor showing in 2023 should motivate Johnson to play better this year. He is also still looking for his first major since joining LIV Golf in 2022. Johnson has finished in the top 10 of a major twice in the last two years and cannot be counted out in Augusta this year. Getting +4000 for such a player is excellent value.

Dustin Johnson
+4000

Cameron Young (+4500)

Cameron Young is currently ranked 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), but he’s listed at 45-1 to win the 2024 Masters! The player’s rapid rise gives me a reason to believe he can win the tournament.

Young ended 2023 ranked 22nd in the OWGR and has jumped nearly 10 spots since then. That might be the perfect time for the 26-year-old to win his first major.

Young tied for seventh at the Masters last year, his best finish at the event. He has also finished third and second at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship, respectively. Young has not gotten over the hump yet, but he’s come close on multiple occasions.

Winning the Masters would by far be Young’s biggest achievement. The PGA Tour Rookie of the Year for the 2021-2022 season has the raw talent to be at the top, so I won’t be shocked if he wins this year’s Masters. The odds of +4500 are more than enough to back Young with a small wager.

Cameron Young
+4500

Brian Harman (+6500)

Up next on my list of sleepers for The Masters this year is Brian Harman. The 37-year-old finally broke through last season and won his first major championship! The veteran triumphed at The Open Championship by six strokes.

.

His win at The Open was a massive upset, with Harman closing at around 125-1 at most golf betting sites. He is capable of another surprising victory at a major this year, and The Masters will be his first chance to do it.

If Harman can build on the momentum from The Open, he could have a career-best showing in Augusta this year. The odds are still very low, because he has only made the cut in two of the five Masters he has participated in. A hot start should help Harman make the cut for the third time in his professional career.

It’s worth noting that he is currently ranked eighth in the OWGR, but the odds don’t reflect that ranking. Augusta will be the perfect stage for Harman to prove that he is worthy of being ranked as one of the 10 best golfers in the world.

+6500

Russell Henley (+11000)

Russell Henley, a Georgia native who is searching for his first major win, is another sleeper to win the 2024 Masters. The player is currently ranked 22nd in the OWGR, his highest ranking in his career, but you can back him to win The Masters at +11000! That simply doesn’t make sense.

For a start, the guy almost won the Masters last season. Henley finished tied for fourth place, by far his best performance in a major championship. It was an excellent tournament, but it’s not the only one in his career.

Henley has seven professional wins, including four on the PGA Tour. He does not have the historical success of the betting favorites to win the Masters. However, at +11000, you would not need to place a huge bet on Henley to get a large payday.

The Bet
Russell Henley
+11000

Tiger Woods (+17500)

One of the most successful players in The Masters history is the legendary Tiger Woods. The 2021 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee is looking for his 16th major win in his pro career. It is unlikely that Woods will catch Jack Nicklaus with 18 majors, but a win at Augusta will get Woods one step closer.

Many of Woods’s best performances have taken place at the legendary Augusta course. He has won five Masters in his career, with his most recent title coming in 2019. Woods’s victory back then ended a more than decade-long drought between majors.

Getting +17500 for a player of this level, even at this stage of his career, is just too high. Woods was a popular dark horse pick at the Masters last year, but he withdrew during the third round due to a foot injury.

If his body can hold up, Woods should make a deeper run in this year’s Masters. It is hard to know if he has another major win left, but given his success on this course, Augusta would be a fitting place to add to his career total.

The Bet
Tiger Woods
+17500

Phil Mickelson (+17500)

Another legendary figure, Phil Mickelson, takes the final spot on my list of the best Masters sleepers for 2024. Some sports betting sites have the three-time Masters champion listed at +17500 to win the tournament this year.

Mickelson is in his late 50s, but that does not mean he is incapable of pulling off an upset win. He won the PGA Championship in 2021, becoming the oldest player to win a major title.

Another reason I believe Mickelson is a great sleeper pick is that he almost won the Masters last year. He started the final day 10 shots behind the top spot and moved up to second place by the end of the day. He tied Brooks Koepka for second place and tied his career-best 65 for a round at Augusta.

Getting +17500 for a golfer who did so well just a year ago doesn’t make sense, so will gladly take Mickelson as one of the best sleepers for The Masters 2024.
