Italy to beat Ecuador – 11/10

Italy beat Venezuela 2-1 on Thursday and they can do the double over South American opponents when they take on Ecuador in New Jersey on Sunday.

The Azzurri have won five of their last eight games, including victories over the Netherlands, Ukraine and North Macedonia.

Ecuador have been in decent form themselves, but do struggle going forward at times, they have only scored four goals in their last five matches.

That does not bode well as they take on a free-flowing Italian side who have netted 12 times in their last five outings.

The majority of Ecuador’s success has come at home, thanks at least in part to the high altitude of Estadio Olimpico Atahualpa.

On the road La Tri have won just three of their last 13 matches and look vulnerable against this quality Italian side.

Luciano Spalletti’s squad has an interesting balance of experience and youth and they should have the class edge over their opponents in this matchup.

Los Angeles FC were one of the dominant forces in the Western Conference last season, but have made a stuttering start to the new campaign, taking just four points from their opening four games.

They are much better at home than on the road though and should be able to get the better of a Nashville side who have not won any of their last four MLS away games.

Both teams have netted in the visitors’ last three outings, however, so a repeat of that looks likely.

Mateusz Bogusz has impressed for LA this season, only Cristian Olivera has had more shots on target, and he has already opened his account, so take him to find the net again.

Long shot of the day 

Seattle Sounders to beat San Jose Earthquakes and both teams to score – 9/2

The Seattle Sounders have been inconsistent so far this season, but they are fancied to get the better of the San Jose Earthquakes when the two teams meet in the early hours of Sunday.

Seattle are winless from their first three league games, but there have been extenuating circumstances for those results and they should be too good for the Earthquakes, who have lost all four of their matches this term.

However, both teams have scored in six of Seattle’s last eight MLS games on the road and three of San Jose’s four defeats have seen both teams find the net.

Take the Sounders to kickstart their campaign with an away victory in which both teams land on the scoresheet.
