After another gruelling season, the wait is nearly over and all eyes will be on Las Vegas tonight as the Kansas City Chiefs face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
The 49ers proved themselves as the best team in the NFC, securing the No.1 seed before beating the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions in the play-offs.

Running-backs to lead the way
This year’s Super Bowl will see defending champions Kansas face the 49ers for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Kansas beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl in 2020, running out 31-20 winners in Miami, but Kyle Shanahan’s team will be confident of avenging that defeat.
San Francisco finished the regular season with a 12-5 record, leaning heavily on running-back Christian McCaffrey throughout the campaign.
The 27-year-old finished the campaign with 1459 rushing yards from 272 carries, scoring 14 touchdowns in the process.
McCaffrey has also scored two touchdowns in both of San Francisco’s play-off games and he should lead by example on Sunday, as should Chiefs pair Isiah Pacheco and Travis Kelce.
Pacheco was Kansas’ leading back throughout the season, while Kelce led the way for Tight Ends in the league.
All three players are elite in their respective positions, so backing two of them to score seems a safe bet for this blockbuster matchup.
San Francisco primed for success
The 49ers’ roster has been expertly put together over the last few years, and they are now a better team than the one that lost to the Chiefs in 2020.
Shanahan has elite players on both offence and defence, and his array of options will be envied by opposition coaches across the league.
Narrow play-off victories over the Packers and Lions have proven that the 49ers can grind out wins, and they will need to do that against this spirited Chiefs outfit.
Patrick Mahomes and his offence often find their best form on the biggest stage, but the 49ers have already overcome several hurdles all season and they have the better roster heading into this tie in Las Vegas.
Mahomes to lean heavily on his best asset
The connection between Chiefs QB Mahomes and TE Kelce has already won them two Super Bowls.
They are two of the best, if not the best, in their positions in the NFL and they continue to prove it time and time again.
During their win over the Bills, Mahomes and Kelce combined for their 16th career postseason touchdown, ensuring they surpassed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s record.
No other QB-receiver duo have combined for more touchdowns, and Mahomes will look to find Kelce throughout the contest.
Kelce has yet to drop below 70 receiving yards in the play-offs this season, and he has three touchdowns to his name in the postseason.
Whenever the Chiefs are in a tight spot, Mahomes will look for his most-trusted target, and Kelce should surpass the 71-yard line with ease.
