Tough play? Maybe, but it went right off his hands. He doesn’t have a glove, because he’s a grown man, so he has to bare hand it, and it just bounces just off the mitts and into the bullpen. Absolutely brutal. It’s not like it fell in the seats and he was able to grab it afterward. It went right down the chute.

The other thing that makes this rough is that he’s sitting in the corner and has nobody else around him. No other hands reaching for the ball, no Zack Hample clattering into him from behind. It looked like he tracked it well and just couldn’t execute. Poor guy got roasted by the announcers for a couple minutes after the botch job, but it’s a play you have to make.
