NBA Picks March 24: Milwaukee hosts Oklahoma City in headlined matchup

We are down to the final few weeks of the NBA regular season and each game becomes increasingly more important. There are six games scheduled for March 24. We will take a look at four of them with the Bucks hosting the Thunder in the featured game.

Oklahoma City Thunder versus Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee comes in second in the Eastern Conference and Oklahoma City is tops in the Western Conference. The Thunder is “burning hot” after going 5-1 over the last six and the Bucks are “average down” after a recent 3-3 stretch. The teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the “over/under” line and the Score Prediction has the Thunder by the narrowest margin, 120-119, with 53 percent confidence. The Thunder wiped out the Bucks by more than 20 points in the first meeting between the teams this season. Both teams are among the most stable teams in the league according to the Team Volatility Oscillator. Oklahoma City is 20-13 on the road and is the hotter team at the moment. I like them to edge the Bucks in a game “over” the line.

Golden State Warriors versus Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota is just a game and a half out of the top seed in the Western Conference and Golden State is 10th in the conference. Both teams are 3-3 over the last six games and Minnesota has a +21 to +10 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams have been trending in games on opposite sides of the “over/under” line over the past three games and the Score Prediction has Minnesota by a 111-109 score with 61 percent confidence. The Warriors have a better road record of 18-14 than their home record, and Minnesota is 23-9 at home. The Timberwolves won the previous two games between the teams this season, both on the road. I like the Timberwolves to take care of business at home, winning by six to ten points, but pass on the “over/under” bet.

Philadelphia 76ers versus Los Angeles Clippers

The 76ers have struggled mightily without Joel Embiid in the lineup and doesn’t get any easier facing the Clippers, although Los Angeles is just 2-4 over the last six and “ice cold up” versus “average down” on the Team Strength Oscillator.  Philadelphia has been involved in games “under” the line in each of the last six, while Los Angeles has been trending in games “over” the line during the same period. The Score Prediction is for a Clippers blowout, 115-99, with 70 percent confidence. Los Angeles is 25-12 at home and Philadelphia is 17-16 on the road. Both teams have been very consistent with regard to their favorite/underdog status. There is little to believe that the 76ers can win on the road against at top competitor like the Clippers without Embiid. The Clippers will win by double-digits in a game “under” the line.

Cleveland Cavaliers versus Miami Heat

Miami comes in 7th in the Eastern Conference and looks to avoid the play-in round, while Cleveland is 3rd in the conference. Miami is 3-3 over the last six and “average” status and Cleveland is just 2-4 and “ice cold down” during the same stretch. The teams have been trending in games on opposite sides of the line with a Score Prediction ofof 114-112 in favor of Miami, but with only 34 percent confidence. Cleveland has one of the best road records in the league at 21-12 and Miami is only two games over .500 at home. Miami has won two of the three games between the teams this season with the road team winning every time. I like the trend to continue. Go with Cleveland in a game “over” the line.
