Lingfield racing tips

2.20: Algheed 12/1 each-way

Most wins over 7f for this Mark Loughnane-trained horse who has been remarkably consistent this year.

This 0-95 is quite a low-rated Class 3, with the favourite Wyvern rated 80 and Algheed carrying just 9-1 looks to appeal the most as an each-way single bet.

The five-year-old mare has four wins on the all-weather but also five second place finishes and eight third places.

Has a good position in the stalls in 2, with potential of striking once more over course and distance.

Exeter racing tips

1.40: Masters Legacy 6/4

Just a three runner race to kick things off at Exeter and this can be down to the tactics suiting.

Gustavian looks difficult to side with despite his better runs coming at this distance, but is often prone to some jumping mistakes which will make it even harder in such a small field.

Fox Pro and Gustavian have a bit of ‘seconditis’ it seems and Masters Legacy looks the top-rated justified favourite.

He won a competitive Class 3 on his chase and handicap debut in November to Sizable Sam, but ten days later finished far back at Exeter again prompting a wind surgery the month after.

If back to running his best he should be hard to beat and his wind surgery in March 2022 also offered up plenty of improvement so the second one should also sort things out.

2.10: Midnight Callisto 11/10

Easy to back this favourite in another three-runner contest at Exeter as Midnight Callisto has won over course and distance before.

Winning by 26 lengths in a maiden hurdle event in February 2022.

She does well in mares contests and this one looks quite open despite the odds-on price early on.

She’s been close in defeat on two occasions this season and retains Sean O’Briain in the saddle taking off 7lb which will play a big role here today.

4.17: Halifax 6/1

Not many winners in this Class 4 Handicap Hurdle but one that’s come close is Halifax.

Will be his second run for trainer Grace Harris and has run consistently well in defeat on his four runs this season, all in this sphere and remains a danger.

Has been tried at 2m, 2m3f, 3m and 2m7f in that order and his form reads 2342.

Notably behind some subsequent multiple winners like Princess T, Sure Touch and The Questioner.

But this field looks winnable if he continues his consistency at a much better value price than his rivals.

Warwick racing tips

3.00: Lostintranslation 22/1

On a much reduced mark since his last win and the 11-year-old is now going off a mark of 142 which gives him a chance.

Though he’s not been near his best this will be his first time attempting anything below a graded level since November 2019.

The Joe Tizzard-trained horse has been pulled up and far back in recent races but might still have a lot to offer in this kind of handicap trying this middle distance again.
