Josh Dobbs is on top of the world.
Once best known for being an aerospace engineer who doubled as a veteran NFL backup quarterback bouncing from team to team, Dobbs’ incredible life story has become even better since suddenly joining the Minnesota Vikings.

Dobbs is now 2-0 leading the Vikings without Kirk Cousins.
But he’s becoming even bigger off the field.
The former Arizona, Pittsburgh and Tennessee QB maintained an active social media presence before he began saving Minnesota’s season.
Vikings fans are loving Dobbs’ arms-wide-open approach to TikTok, and a recent tongue-in-cheek social media tribute to the rock band Creed was sung in Dobbs’ honor.
Posting on his own account, using ‘Can you take me higher’, the comment section was littered with declarations of love.
“I am naming my firstborn son after you Joshua Dobbs,” one wrote, while another joked: “Josh Dobbs is an elite tiktoker and an even better QB.”
A third added: “In Josh Dobbs we trust,” with a fourth saying: “Josh Dobbs the Tik Toker plays QB on the weekends Legendary.”
And you don’t even have to support the Vikings to like him.
One fan posted a question: “Is Josh Dobbs my favorite QB no matter what team he is on? Why yes, yes he is.”
Minnesota was supposed to be toast after Cousins was lost for the season with an Achilles injury.
Cue Dobbs’ arrival to save the day.
He pulled off a heroic last-minute, game-winning touchdown against Atlanta last week.
On Sunday, the 28-year-old QB was completed 23-of-34 passes for 268 yards, one touchdown and a 101.1 rating as Minnesota improved to 6-4.
Dobbs is likely the only starting QB in the NFL who would prefer to be in outer space instead of on a football field.
The NASA lover stunned the Dallas Cowboys earlier this season while filling in as Arizona’s QB during Kyler Murray’s absence.
When he was with the Cardinals, Dobbs was so unknown that he was unable to find his jersey in the team store.
Once Murray returned to action, Dobbs was bounced to Minnesota and he’s only reached higher since.
“I did pinch myself,” Dobbs said. “It’s just been really cool being able to take it all in.”
