The Glazers announced their intentions to sell in November, meaning it’s around eight months since the process began.

Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are fronting the two leading bids for the Premier League giants, with the former growing confident of completing a takeover.

However, fans have been patiently waiting for new ownership to arrive at Old Trafford.

With the new season already approaching, they are set to express their discontent against the Glazers as the club’s new home kit goes on sale.

The 1958 supporters’ group used Twitter to reveal they will protest outside the megastore at Old Trafford on Tuesday morning.

They wrote: “DON’T FEED GLAZER GREED! The 1958 will have a presence at the megastore on Tuesday. A legal protest from 9:45am.

“Be there! Bring your anti Glazer flags and banners! Be loud, be visual. We don’t stop until they sell our club! #GlazersOut #BoycottAdidas.”

Such a protest will take place on the same morning that United’s new adidas home kit goes on sale to the public.

A press release for the 2023/24 kit says, the shirt ’embodies the spirit of Manchester’ and claims it ‘taps into the cultural identity of the city, its rich heritage, whilst also encapsulating the fans’ undying commitment and love for the club. It is a statement in the club’s timeless belief to succeed, forever and ever.’

There was hope that new ownership could be in place before the beginning of the transfer window.

But the market is already open and no definitive decision has yet been made, with United also close to the start of pre-season.

Tuesday is set to be another day of fan protest against the Glazers, who have been at the helm since 2005.
