F1 fans left in stitches as moody Max Verstappen sings Elvis Presley after Las Vegas Grand Prix win

Max Verstappen had cut a moody figure all week in Las Vegas but in you can bet it all he was delighted.

The Red Bull superstar took a five second penalty and a collision with George Russell, but still took the chequered flag with relative ease.

His Turn 1 jostle with Ferrari drive Charles Leclerc had threatened to derail his off-the-line surge.

Starting second, he tried to slip past his red rival but ended up pushing the Monagasque off track.

He took first place but, instead of being forced to return the position it looked as if he’d stolen, the Dutchman – in an Elvis Presley inspired race suit just had to serve a five second penalty.

Later, in a battle after some pitstops, Verstappen took on damage when he clashed with Mercedes star Russell.

Nonetheless, he claimed the victory.

Same as it ever was in this dominant 2023 championship-winning season.

Having spent the entire week moaning about the bright lights of Las Vegas though, he surprised everyone with his post-race celebrations.

After speaking with Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, some Elvis was fed to him over the team radio.

Verstappen’s race did have some drama, including an early battle with Leclerc[/caption]

And despite his grumpy demeanour away from the track, on it, he belted out a few bars of mega-hit ‘Viva Las Vegas’.

Over the radio then came the reply: “Into the pitlane, Max… Or should I call you Elvis.”

But that personality didn’t hide for ling: “Haha, no, no. Don’t do that!”

Fans, though, absolutely loved it.

One said: “I will never say another bad thing about Max Verstappen after him wearing an Elvis inspired race suit. Absolutely love it.”

Another added: “After all the negative comments on Las Vegas We love Max.”

A third commented: “He’s trolling lol”
