Carlos Alcaraz copies Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham’s goal celebration as he celebrates US Open win

Carlos Alcaraz emulated Jude Bellingham as he celebrated victory in the US Open quarter-finals.

The reigning champion beat Alexander Zverev in straight sets to tee up a semi-final clash with Daniil Medvedev at Flushing Meadows.

Putting on a clinical display, Alcaraz was clearly inspired by his club’s newest blockbuster arrival.

A die-hard Real Madrid supporter, the 20-year-old has been watching on in awe as Bellingham takes to life at the Santiago Bernabeu like a duck to water.

As a result, Alcaraz dedicated his victory to Los Blancos’ new star by emulating his now-iconic celebration in front of supporters in New York.

Alcaraz spoke of his admiration for Bellingham in a press conference last week, saying: “I’m really happy to watch Jude Bellingham play at Real Madrid.

“He’s such a great, talented player. One of the best in the world.

“I’m sure that he’s going to be the best player in the world in that position, so I’m just really really happy to have him in the team.

“I’ve talked a little bit with him, he’s such a great person as well, he’s a complete guy!”

Since arriving at the club from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee worth £88.5million, Bellingham has defied all expectations by scoring five goals in four appearances.

Bellingham is already emerging as a new hero for Real Madrid supporters, with 20-year-old Alcaraz a keen supporter.

He is the only English player on the shortlist for the Kopa Trophy, the award presented to the best young player under the age of 21.

World number one Alcaraz has reached three semi-finals this year and is the youngest player since Novak Djokovic in 2007 in the Open Era to do that.

Despite taking his own sport by storm but Medvedev says the Wimbledon champion is beatable and will be aiming to win at Flushing Meadows for the second time in three years.
