Bucs vs. Saints Wednesday Injury Report: Any CBs Available?

The Bucs had a walkthrough practice on Wednesday as they still recover from their previous game on Monday night. What we knew going into the practice was that there was going to be a ton of curiosity about the top corners for the Bucs – Carlton Davis (toe) and Jamel Dean (neck/shoulder).

Davis was at least limited in practice while Dean did not participate. How much stock we can put into a walkthrough remains to be seen. Head coach Todd Bowles even said that Dean is “iffy” so they’ll see at the end of the week.

On top of that, there were questions about Dee Delaney, who luckily wasn’t on the injury report. But that didn’t mean the Bucs escaped without another cornerback injury as Derek Pitts, who subbed in for Delaney on Monday when he got hurt, did not participate with a hamstring injury.

Tampa Bay worked out two corners on Wednesday. Odds are they might have to bring one in by the end of the week.

“We’re looking at it,” Bowles said. “It was a walk-through today so it’s hard to tell right now. We’ve got to check the progress throughout the course of the week. If it doesn’t look good, we may sign one.”

Despite having any extra day to prepare for this game, every Saints player on their injury report did not participate.
