ESPN issued a public apology for running with a manipulated Ballsack Sports quote stemming from a Ja Morant interview with Taylor Rooks at Bleacher Report:
ESPN just issued a public apology after falling for @BallsackSports, I’m not even joking pic.twitter.com/CFaIcbFntv

Here’s the ESPN clip they’re apologizing for on This Just In:

And here is the original Ja Morant quote, followed by the doctored version:
. @TaylorRooks: “This time, you’re not saying I would’ve cooked him.”
Ja Morant: “I would’ve cooked him too.
Rooks: “You would’ve cooked Michael Jordan?!”
Ja: “Nobody got more confidence than 12. I’m never gonna say nobody gonna beat me 1-on-1.”pic.twitter.com/xpb0N2kIKQ

Ja Morant says Michael Jordan would be “just another superstar” in today’s game—says today’s talent is at all time high. pic.twitter.com/eAGTjfiFQS

Alright are we caught up? There’s nothing more I love than people who take themselves way too seriously getting duped. Jacoby having to deliver that statement in his finest Ron Burgundy suit is hilarious. ESPN still can’t figure out this darn internet. Some producer just saw this professional-looking graphic every sports media company uses and jotted it down on their rundown sheet.. Stick to what you know ESPN; pranks and random user generated content.
Take a look at SportsCenter’s IG:
Four clips of Richard Jefferson reffing Summer League, three prank videos, and a couple of Little League highlights. These sports social media accounts went to shit as soon as corporations started mandating engagement targets. Stuart Scott is rolling over in his grave watching what he built turned into a sideshow.
How about Ballsack Sports though? From a random sports troll account, to Daryl Morey mentioning it during a Mikey Miss interview, and now it’s wreaked havoc on the World Wide Leader and more:

Nobody is safe from the taint.
