College Basketball Futures: Markets To Watch

A team from the Big East could win the NCAA Basketball Championship, a Kentucky Wildcats forward is aiming for the Wooden Award, and two conference contenders are mispriced. Find out which bets we like with our look into the college basketball futures market.

In his last two games for the Kentucky Wildcats, Oscar Tshiebwe has scored 59 points and grabbed 30 rebounds. Despite his growing usage percentage in the Kentucky offense and his top four player efficiency rating in college basketball, his odds are still +1200.

Villanova has won five conference games in a row and is now ranked fourth on KenPom. For a coach and a program with a championship pedigree, +2500 is an excellent price.

Davidson and Boise State are both in good positions to win their conferences, which are coming to a close shortly. We’ll focus on those in this piece.

Here are our thoughts on two potential conference champions that you should bet right away and other college basketball futures markets that are showing value right now.

College Basketball Futures Showing Value

To Win Conference College Basketball Futures

Davidson Wildcats (+360)

Davidson continues to be overlooked in the Atlantic 10 college basketball futures odds. In terms of the regular-season title, they should be the favorites.

The winner of the A-10 regular season will be determined by winning percentage, not by the number of wins. Below are the projected winning percentages and the odds of winning the conference of the top teams in the A-10:

Preseason favorites to win the A-10, St. Bonaventure's odds haven't been adjusted to reflect how the teams have played so far. This market provides tremendous value, especially for the Davidson Wildcats.

The current top number on Davidson is +360 at DraftKings. At PointsBet, they are +350 and at Barstool, they are +325 respectively.

Boise State Broncos (+800)

When it comes to the Mountain West regular-season conference champion, Boise State might be able to benefit from cancellations associated with Covid-19.

As with the A-10, the Mountain West will determine their conference champion by winning percentage. The following are projected winning percentages and odds of winning the MWC for the top teams:

Still remaining on Boise State's schedule are two games against San Diego State. The first game will be played in San Diego on January 22nd. Due to cancellations, the Aztecs will be off for 14 days before this game. It is not uncommon for teams to come out flat after experiencing a Covid-19 pause. Getting this win on the road will put Boise State in the driver's seat to win the MWC.

The +800 odds on Boise State appeal to me more than the +150 currently available on San Diego State. Not all sportsbooks offer +800 odds on Boise State. At FanDuel, the odds are already as low as +500.
