2022 24 Hour Le Mans Odds and Race Predictions

The ultimate endurance test in auto racing is right around the corner in France. The 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for June 11 and June 12. This is the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will occur at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

TheSportsGeek is waiting on the 24 Hour Le Man odds, but as soon as they are on the board online, we will update them on this page. Generally, in my experience, the 24 Hour Le Mans odds aren’t posted until after qualifying at most online sportsbooks.

If you only like Formula 1 racing based on its 2-hour race limit, you’re probably not going to like a 24-hour race. However, it isn’t an event that you’ll spend 24 hours watching.

You don’t watch your stock or crypto tickers for 24 hours. It’s an enjoyable experience if you’ve researched the grid and cars.

Impressive Machines
The cars featured in the 24 Hours of Le Mans are impressive pieces of engineering. If for no other reason, it’s a joy to watch how well these cars run for 24 hours straight.

You can’t be a fan of auto racing and not appreciate the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The track at Circuit de la Sarthe has a length of 13.626 km. It’s a monster with 38 Turns on the course. The fastest lap record was broken in 2017 during qualifying by Toyota’s Kamui Kobayashi with a time of 3:14.791.

Kobayashi’s teammate, Mike Conway, broke the race lap record, with a time of 3:17.297 in 2019.

Conway is on a team with Kamui Kobayashi and Jose Maria Lopez once again this year. He was not on the 2019 winning team for Toyota alongside Fernando Alonso, Sebastien Buemi, and Kazuki Nakajima.

24 Hours of Le Mans Winners

Toyota has been on a tear with their race team in the Le Mans. Toyota Gazoo Racing has this race down well and compiling the best roster for their two teams in the Hypercar class.

Back Together For 2022
The superstar roster of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Jose Maria Lopez won the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans last year. This victory gave Toyota Gazoo Racing their fourth straight win at the Le Mans race.

Their win in 2018 ended a three-year run for Porsche. F1’s Fernando Alonso was part of Toyota’s 2018 and 2019 winning teams.

Before Porsche won the Le Mans in three straight years, Audi and Team Joest dominated from 2011 to 2014.

Between Audi North America and Joest, Audi won eight of nine races from 2006 to 2014. Toyota could very easily duplicate that success in the modern era.

There are currently no 24 Hours of Le Mans odds posted online. This is unfortunate for the most prestigious endurance event in racing.

Keep your eyes peeled on the top 24 Hour Le Mans betting sites as qualifying and practice sessions continue. I’ve used these online sportsbooks for 24 Hours of Le Mans odds, and they’ve been the most reliable.

My best suggestion is to look for the odds when qualifying and the Hyperpole are completed, and the grid is set. This likely doesn’t change anything for Toyota.

They are expected to do well in qualifying, practice, and the race. Conway, Kobayashi, and Lopez were too good last year and should be the favorites to win in 2022.

24 Hour Le Mans Predictions

Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Jose Maria Lopez (Toyota Gazoo Racing)

Toyota Gazoo won three straight 24 Hours of Le Mans with Kazuki Nakajima and Sebastien Buemi in the seat. From Nakajima to Kobayashi, Toyota feels really confident that his countryman can carry the torch for multiple Le Mans wins.

Kobayashi appears like the class of the Hypercar class. Corvette has looked good this week, too.

He was fast in qualifying practice and helped Toyota edge out American Glickenhouse Racing (Corvette). If there’s another winning team than Toyota, it’s likely Glickenhouse. Alpine might feel confident in their paddock, but when the race starts, this will be tough.

Kobayashi had a timesheet of 3:27.247 in the qualifying practice. He looks well-prepared for the Hyperpole. The good news for Glickenhouse is that they had two fast drivers and were nipping at Kobayashi.

Romain Dumas was only 0.108 seconds slower than Kobayashi, while another Glickenhouse driver rounded out the top-3. Alpine, who is hoping they can keep pace in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, finished 4th on the timesheet in the qualifying practice.

This is an endurance race and not a test of speed. However, Toyota Gazoo is better at both this year. They are determined to create a Le Mans dynasty as Audi did from 2006 to 2014, and I can’t argue against this possibility.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2022 is looking favorably for Toyota. After four straight titles, they can very easily do it a fifth time.

Their streetcars are known for reliability, and we are likely going to see the same from the Conway, Kobayashi, and Lopez Toyota Gazoo team in France. The 24 Hour Le Mans driver change will happen between these three confident drivers for Toyota’s most dangerous team in France.

They won the 6-hour FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain, with Toyota finishing 1-2 in that event. Expect a Toyota win in the most coveted event in endurance racing.
