UPDATED: NFL Week 14 Betting Odds, Lines and Picks

Totals are falling in a few games and there has been quite a bit of movement in the Week 14 NFL odds.

As always, there have been some line moves this week. The Tennessee Titans opened as 10-point favorites against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but that line has dipped to 8.5. The Detroit Lions are visiting the Denver Broncos and the point spread in that game has shifted from 8 to 9.5 in favor of the Broncos.

The total on Detroit-Denver has also dropped from 43.5 to 42.

The biggest shift when it comes to Week 14 totals was for the Las Vegas Raiders at the Kansas City Chiefs. The total dropped from 51 to 47.5. Some other games with notable total movement include the Seattle Seahawks at the Houston Texans going from 43.5 to 41.5. The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Football Team have seen their total drop from 49.5 to 48.

As always, but especially as it gets later in the NFL season, injuries need to be monitored and that can make a difference between the opening line and where the lines sit later in the week.

New Orleans is anticipating getting RB Alvin Kamara back this week and that could make the Saints much more dangerous.

Here’s a look at the updated NFL odds for Week 14, along with my picks (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale):

NFL Odds, Lines and Picks for Week 14: Thursday Night Football

Steelers (6-5-1 SU, 5-7 ATS, 4-7-1 O/U) vs. Vikings (5-7 SU, 6-6 ATS, 7-5 O/U)

Opening line: Vikings -3
Current line: Vikings -3

Opening total: 44.5
Current total: 43.5

The Vikings have ruled out WR Adam Thielen and listed RB Dalvin Cook as questionable for the Thursday night matchup. Those injuries could open the door for the Steelers to play the Vikings tough in a lower-scoring game.

Pick: Steelers +3 (★★★), Under 43.5 (★★★)

NFL Odds, Lines and Picks for Week 14: Sunday Slate

Raiders (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS, 6-6 O/U) vs. Chiefs (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Opening line: Chiefs -8.5
Current line: Chiefs -8.5

Opening total: 51
Current total: 47.5

So long as Raiders TE Darren Waller is not practicing, this matchup is more daunting for Las Vegas. The Chiefs have been playing lockdown defense and if the Raiders are missing their biggest offensive weapon, that might help to explain why the total plunged from 51 to 47.5.

Pick: Raiders +8.5 (★★), Under 47.5 (★★★)

Saints (5-7 SU, 5-7 ATS, 6-6 O/U) vs. Jets (3-9 SU, 3-9 ATS, 7-5 O/U)

Opening line: Saints -6
Current line: Saints -5.5

Opening total: 43.5
Current total: 43

Saints RB Alvin Kamara practiced regularly Wednesday and appears ready to return to the lineup in Week 14 after missing four games. Good timing since Mark Ingram landed on the COVID-19 reserve list. Jets WR Corey Davis has been placed on IR and RB Tevin Coleman is in concussion protocol, so health is not a big advantage for the Jets.

Pick: Jets +5.5 (★★), Under 43 (★★★)

Jaguars (2-10 SU, 4-8 ATS, 2-10 O/U) vs. Titans (8-4 SU, 7-5 ATS, 7-5 O/U)

Opening line: Titans -10
Current line: Titans -8.5

Opening total: 44.5
Current total: 43.5

Titans WR Julio Jones returned to practice this week and Tennessee could use a few more healthy weapons on offense, especially with RB Derrick Henry and WR A.J. Brown still on IR. The line moving toward the Jaguars this week is interesting and it is in line with my pick but, as with most things involving the Jaguars, I don’t love it.

Pick: Jaguars +8.5 (★★), Over 43.5 (★★)

Ravens (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U) vs. Browns (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

Opening line: Browns -2
Current line: Browns -2.5

Opening total: 42.5
Current total: 42

The line is drifting toward the Browns, and while Cleveland should probably be favored, playing at home and coming off a bye week, the shift is making it a closer call. This game could be a slugfest, not unlike the 16-10 Ravens win over the Browns in Week 12.

Pick: Browns -2.5 (★★), Under 42 (★★★★)

Falcons (5-7 SU, 5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U) vs. Panthers (5-7 SU, 5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Opening line: Panthers -3
Current line: Panthers -2.5

Opening total: 43.5
Current total: 42.5

Rookie RB Chuba Hubbard should get the bulk of the work in the Carolina backfield with Christian McCaffrey on IR and there may be some questions about just how effective the Panthers will be with Cam Newton at quarterback and Hubbard at running back. Playing at home and coming off a bye week should work in their favor against a Falcons team that has the same record but is 99 points worse by scoring differential.

Pick: Panthers -2.5 (★★★), Under 42.5 (★★★)

Cowboys (8-4 SU, 9-3 ATS, 6-6 O/U) vs. Washington (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Opening line: Cowboys -4.5
Current line: Cowboys -4

Opening total: 49.5
Current total: 48

A rivalry game that could be reasonably close, though Washington appears to have more significant injuries, losing TE Logan Thomas to a season-ending knee injury and DE Montez Sweat to COVID-19 protocols. Mix in a few banged-up offensive linemen and it could be challenging for Washington, but it is at home and has won four straight games.

Pick: Washington +4 (★★★), Under 48 (★★★)

Seahawks (4-8 SU, 6-6 ATS, 2-9-1 O/U) vs. Texans (2-10 SU, 5-7 ATS, 4-8 O/U)

Opening line: Seahawks -7.5
Current line: Seahawks -7.5

Opening total: 43.5
Current total: 41.5

Uncertainty reigns over the Texans’ QB situation as Davis Mills could be the starter even if Tyrod Taylor’s left wrist injury does not prevent him from playing. Neither one inspires much confidence and the total started relatively low and is sliding even lower.

Pick: Seahawks -7.5 (★★★), Over 41.5 (★★)

Lions (1-10-1 SU, 8-4 ATS, 4-8 O/U) vs. Broncos (6-6 SU, 6-6 ATS, 2-10 O/U)

Opening line: Broncos -8
Current line: Broncos -9.5

Opening total: 43.5
Current total: 42

It is probably not ideal that the Lions have QB Jared Goff, RB D’Andre Swift, and TE T.J. Hockenson listed as questionable but if those three can play, Detroit could give the Broncos a test, depending on which Broncos squad shows up. Perhaps reflecting the Lions’ skill position injuries, the total is falling while the spread is climbing in Denver’s favor.

Pick: Lions +9.5 (★★★), Under 42 (★★)

Giants (4-8 SU, 6-6 ATS, 3-8-1 O/U) vs. Chargers (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS, 5-7 O/U)

Opening line: Chargers -10.5
Current line: Chargers -9.5

Opening total: 45.5
Current total: 43

The Giants are dealing with a bunch of injuries, not least of which comes at the quarterback position, where Jake Fromm could make his first NFL start. The biggest uncertainty for the Chargers revolves around WR Keenan Allen, who tested positive for COVID-19, as well as WR Mike Williams and CB Chris Harris, both considered close contacts to Allen. They could play or some or all might be out this week. It will depend on testing.

Pick: Chargers -9.5 (★★★), Under 43 (★★★)

49ers (6-6 SU, 5-7 ATS, 7-5 O/U) vs. Bengals (7-5 SU, 6-6 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

Opening line: 49ers -1
Current line: 49ers -1

Opening total: 47.5
Current total: 48.5

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell and WR Deebo Samuel are both questionable for Week 14, but if Samuel is ready to play, that may be sooner than initially expected. Health is not the Bengals’ friend right now, either, with QB Joe Burrow, WR Tee Higgins, and RB Joe Mixon all missing practice Wednesday.

Pick: Bengals +1 (★★), Over 48.5 (★★)

Bills (7-4 SU, 6-4-1 ATS, 5-6 O/U) vs. Buccaneers (9-3 SU, 6-6 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

Opening line: Buccaneers -3
Current line: Buccaneers -3

Opening total: 53
Current total: 53.5

There is not much to take away from Buffalo’s Monday night loss against the New England Patriots, unless the Bucs intend to run the ball for the entire game and have Tom Brady throw it just three times. The Bills may be more desperate, losing ground in the AFC East with four losses in their last seven games.

Pick: Bills +3 (★★), Under 53.5 (★★★)

NFL Odds, Lines and Picks for Week 14: Sunday Night Football

Bears (4-8 SU, 4-8 ATS, 4-8 O/U) vs. Packers (9-3 SU, 10-2 ATS, 4-8 O/U)

Opening line: Packers -12.5
Current line: Packers -11.5

Opening total: 45
Current total: 43

Both teams have some key players nursing injuries and both starting quarterbacks, Andy Dalton and Aaron Rodgers, did not practice Wednesday. The game probably should be lopsided, but this is a big number to cover.

Pick: Bears +11.5 (★★), Over 43 (★★★)

NFL Odds, Lines and Picks for Week 14: Monday Night Football

Rams (8-4 SU, 5-7 ATS, 6-5-1 O/U) vs. Cardinals (10-2 SU, 9-3 ATS, 6-6 O/U)

Opening line: Cardinals -2.5
Current line: Cardinals -2

Opening total: 52.5
Current total: 51.5

The Cardinals could get RB Chase Edmonds back from injury and both teams are relatively healthy for this point of the season. Arizona makes sense as a favorite, especially given the Rams’ recent inconsistency.

Pick: Cardinals -2 (★★★), Under 51.5 (★★★)
