Well, the Avalanche saved me five minutes having to wait for the shootout to hand the ‘L’. But man, did the Knights play a fantastic game. Considering the Avalanche entered this season as the outright favorite at many places, and they were priced as a 50/50 last night, Vegas really made them look a level below. It’s funny in like a sad clown way – the Knights played better in their loss than they have in their wins. Obviously, this was not a perfectly healthy Colorado, but the expected goals were doubled up by the home side… they just couldn’t finish, like the Red Wings the other night!

I wanted to take another shot on Detroit coming into Wednesday, but my probability on them dropped while the market probability increased, and neither is enough to warrant playing the other side. Their team total does warrant another shot, however, at 56%. But the most value today resides with the Panthers team total at a touch over 60% for three goals or more. I would be very surprised if that line holds beyond the East coast morning.

Today is my first time getting involved in Calgary and Vancouver… pretty sure. They are having their own little regular-season series, but going off memory alone I don’t think I’ve dipped my toe in yet. These two will continue their duel back in Alberta after three straight on the coast. I did take the Nucks when they last played in Cowtown at a similar price to today’s, but a lot has changed in that time leading to the value on the Flames. I am not in love with the spot or the number, but it was the only one that qualified today!

Oh I almost forgot, Adrian Dater gave us some new insight this week:

Riveting stuff. Some might recall he delivered the very interesting comment during the bubble playoffs that the Oilers’ problem with winning in the playoffs was caused due to McDavid lacking leadership or character or something to that effect, not like his hometown MacKinnon. I am not going to give that tweet the pleasure of actually tracking it down… Twitter will have it, though. Anyway, perhaps this one will resonate with our community a little more… at the moment, however, the ratio doesn’t look so hot for Mr. Dater.
