Report: Los Angeles Lakers Sign Cam Oliver to An Exhibit 10 Contract

The Los Angeles Lakers are close to getting to the 20 player limit for training camp by signing Cam Oliver to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic. The Lakers still have the option to sign two more players to guaranteed (or non-guaranteed) contracts and fit under the 15-man guaranteed contracts that NBA teams are held to during the season.

At 6’8, he fills the role of undersized center, much like Montrezl Harrell and Devontae Cacok did last season.

Since going undrafted out of Nevada, Oliver has suited up in the G League for the Wisconsin Herd and Delaware Blue Coats and played two years in the NBL. He played in four games for the Houston Rockets last season, but was impressive—putting up averages of 10.8 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 19-33 from the field.

His Exhibit 10 contract will be non-guaranteed, and is only considered a training camp invite that allows a player in Oliver’s situation to earn a bonus of up to $50,000 if the South Bay Lakers picks him up and he stays for at least 60 days.
