Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos were supposed to be headlining a packed weekend of boxing, but due to their postponement, this weekend’s slate of fights is rather one-sided.
Three major networks will have a card in action this weekend with two current champions and one former champ headlining on Saturday night.
Take a look at the odds and schedules for Saturday’s main events below.
Jaime Munguia vs. Kamil Szeremeta Odds
middleweights Jaime Munguia and Kamil Szeremeta headline the Saturday evening cared on DAZN in El Paso, Texas.
The 24-year-old Munguia (36-0, 29 KO) is riding a three-fight knockout streak entering Saturday’s fight. Maciej Sulecki was initially slated to face Munguia before he stepped down with an injury. Szeremeta (21-1, 5 KO) stepped in on short notice and his odds certainly show how competitive books expect him to be in this matchup.
Munguia’s odds to win by KO are -400 (80% implied odds) and Szeremeta is coming off his first career loss to Gennadiy Golovkin by TKO. Szeremeta was able to make it to the seventh before he retired at the end of the round and oddsmakers have the over/under here set right at 6.5 rounds.
Naoya Inoue vs. Michael Dasmarinas Odds
Undefeated Japanese rising star, Naoya Inoue (20-0, 17 KO), returns to Las Vegas to defend his WBA/IBF bantamweight titles against Filipino challenger Michael Dasmarinas (30-2-1, 20 KO) Saturday.
Inoue’s last fight against Jason Moloney was a dominant display of power and skill and it ended in spectacular fashion with a signature right hand by the “The Monster” in Round 7.
Oddsmakers expect this fight to end even sooner as they’ve set the over/under at 4.5 Rounds with juice shaded slightly toward the under. If opposing fighters don’t respect Inoue’s power, the books certainly do — his odds to win by KO are -715 (87.73% implied odds), the highest of three main events of the weekend.
Jermall Charlo vs. Juan Macias Montiel Odds
WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (31-0, 22 KO) returns to the ring and his hometown of Houston to face Juan Macias Montiel Saturday night. Montiel (22-4-2) comes off an impressive knockout win against James Kirkland in December, but is making a massive leap in terms of talent for this title fight.
Charlo has successfully defended his middleweight title twice, scoring a TKO win against Dennis Hogan and putting on a strong performance against Sergiy Derevyanchenko in his last fight. Charlo is typically seeking a knockout when he’s in the ring and his odds to score one in this fight are high at -500 (83.33% implied odds).
