The best three underdogs for Week 10 of the NFL Season

Denver Broncos game by game prediction

There have already been a ton of upsets in the NFL during this bizarre 2020 season, and they’re not going to stop anytime soon. Things are up in the air during the 2020 campaign more than ever, which should lead to some truly wild outcomes.

There’s often value on NFL underdogs, and with that in mind today we’ll be breaking down a few of our favorite underdog picks for Week 10:

1. Washington +4.5 @ Detroit

People are sleeping on Washington, but there are quietly some things to be excited about here. Alex Smith looked much sharper in the second half last week after replacing Kyle Allen, and now with a full week of prep as the starter he should be much better. Washington has one of the best pass-rushes in the league, and the secondary has been better than expected. With Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson they’ve got two great young studs at the skill positions.

Detroit on the other hand is a complete mess, and they just got demolished by Minnesota. Matthew Stafford has had very little practice time the past couple of weeks after getting placed on the COVID-19 list, and it doesn’t look like Kenny Golladay is going to play here. As such, I don’t see Detroit’s passing game having much success in this one. As we pointed out in our full breakdown, the Lions are 0-3 without Golladay this season.

2. Giants +3.5 vs. Eagles

The Giants should have beaten the Eagles on the road a few weeks ago before blowing a double-digit fourth-quarter lead, so getting this many points at home is a steal. New York is a lot better than people realize, as they’ve had games go down to the wire against elite teams like the Rams and Buccaneers. Their defense is quietly playing at a high level, and they aren’t allowing anything on the ground.

The secondary has also been very solid the last couple of weeks, so I don’t think they’ll have much trouble stopping this struggling Carson Wentz-led Eagles offense. The Giants also have a lot of talent at the skill positions, and Evan Engram has been starting to come on strong the past few games. Not only will they keep this one very close, we think they’ve got a good shot to win it outright.

3. Broncos +5 @ Raiders

Now is the perfect time to buy the Broncos at the bottom of their market, and fade the Raiders while everyone is celebrating them. Las Vegas hasn’t actually played that great in their recent wins, and I think they come down to earth here. Derek Carr struggles under pressure, and the Broncos still have a pass-rush with some bite led by Bradley Chubb. It also looks like Denver will have starting cornerbacks Bryce Callahan and A.J. Bouye back, both of whom missed last week’s loss.

The Raiders also struggle to stop the run, which will be huge for the Broncos’ offense as it will take some pressure off Drew Lock. If Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay can get going, then it’s going to be a long day for Las Vegas. Don’t forget the Raiders are only 3-3 in their last six games, and the Broncos are another team that makes a lot of sense on the money line.
