Field of Streams – Week 8, 2020. For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.

The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. This year more than ever (Thanks, COVID) will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.

Week 7 was solid, yet again. Baker Mayfield’s resurgence for 35.78 fantasy points was great and had him finish as the QB6 on the week. Logan Thomas came through again with a touchdown and his 14 fantasy points were good enough for the TE5 finish. Defense and Special Teams was yet again amazing with two top-10 options, The Eagles and Chargers finished as 7th and 10th respectively. Check out who you can use to get you the win in week 8.

Quarterback

Teddy Bridgewater vs ATL, 44% owned

Atlanta is simply a fantastic matchup. With Curtis Samuel back in the fold and Christian McCaffrey possibly returning, Teddy will have his full complement of weapons to attach a terrible defense. Better against the run than they are the pass, Bridgewater should have success through the air.

Derek Carr @ CLE, 29% owned

Carr has multiple TD’s in 5 straight games and aside from their pass rush, Cleveland’s defense is not really one to be feared. Cleveland is the 8th best matchup for Opposing QB’s.

Jimmy Garoppolo @ SEA, 30% owned

Seattle is allowing 374 yards per game through the air. This does not exactly match up with the 49er’s offensive philosophy, but it just means that Jimmy G should be able to succeed. 1 week removed from a 3TD and 0 INT performance, watch for Jimmy G to have more success this week.

Tight End

Trey Burton @ DET, 21% owned

With MAC sidelined, Burton has seen at least 5 targets in 3 straight games. I do not expect him to get another rushing TD, but he should see some decent target volume from Rivers.

Harrison Bryant vs LV, 1% owned

Coming virtually out of nowhere with Hooper sidelined, Bryant rewarded DFS players with a two-touchdown game. Temper your expectations, but the Tight End position virtually relies on a touchdown to be a top-12 option, and Baker trusts him in the Red Zone.

Dallas Goedert/Richard Rogers vs Dallas, 47%/9% owned

Goedert should be activated from the IR shortly, but at the time of this article, he still has not been put back on the active roster. Dallas is atrocious in basically all aspects of defense, so whichever TE is healthy and starting should have a solid game.

Defense/Special Teams

Tennessee Titans @ CIN, 27% owned

Rookie QB’s tend to make plenty of mistakes and Burrow had plenty of mistakes last week, the opposing DST just could not capitalize. If the Titans capitalize, they could turn opportunities into points.

Green Bay Packers vs MIN, 20% owned

The Packers have multiple sacks in 5 games this year and Kirk Cousins struggle with pressure in his face. If they can disrupt the pocket, Cousins could be forced into some mistakes. If Dalvin Cook sits out again, the Minnesota offense is down one of its biggest weapons.

Miami Dolphins vs LAR, 15% owned

The Dolphins have been extremely boom or bust from a DST perspective. They have finished with 12+ fantasy points in 3 games and 3 or fewer fantasy points in the other 3 games. With the Rams traveling east on a short week, they could strike.

Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @J.J. Gosh
