Harry Kane and Heung-min Son combined once again to save the day for Tottenham Hotspur as they claimed a 1-0 win at Burnley.

Only Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba (36) have combined to score more goals than the Spurs duo (29) in Premier League history.

Yet the north London were forced to seriously work for all three points at Turf Moor, despite leaving summer signing Gareth Bale on the bench.

It was a rather dull 45 minutes on a bitterly cold Lancashire evening, which threatened to explode into life for all the wrong reasons when Ashley Barnes clattered into Toby Alderweireld.

Although the Clarets striker was adjudged to have challenged fairly for the ball, Alderweireld required a huge bandage applied to his cut.

Kane was dropping ever deeper in order to find more raking passes for his teammates, but he could not repeat his creative heroics from last week against West Ham United.

However, the England captain did turn provider for Son once again when he flicked Erik Lamela’s corner into the path for the South Korea striker to nod home and secure all three points.

Spurs move up to fifth in the table after their first attempt on target, while Burnley remain in the relegation places after just one point from the start of the season.
