Oklahoma Sooners vs. Iowa State Cyclones

Saturday, December 19, 2020 – 12:00 PM ET at AT&T Stadium

The Sooners dispatched Baylor last week, yet it was far from a dominating performance. And although they notched a 27-14 victory, it did not get the job done for all those who backed Oklahoma in their college football picks as 23-point home favorites.

Sooners’ freshman quarterback, Spencer Rattler, was 20-for-28 and tallied 193 passing yards and two TDs against one interception. Oklahoma’s rushing attack produced only 76 yards but it was the Sooners’ defense that picked up the slack and earned its team a trip into the Big 12 Championship this week against Iowa State.

Iowa State has been an unexpected powerhouse this season after a pedestrian 7-6 season from a year ago. The Cyclones have won their last five games and covered the number in four of them. Last week was no different as they welcomed the Mountaineers to Jack Trice Stadium and shortly thereafter, sent them packing with a 42-6 defeat to take home to Morgantown.

The long and short is that we have the regular-season conference champion at home and on a roll getting nearly 2-1 on our money. What’s not to like?

Clemson Tigers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Saturday, December 19, 2020 - 4:00 PM ET at Bank of America Stadium

We could very well see these two teams lock horns in the CFP if everything falls just right. Here we have two of the best teams in the nation residing in the same conference and duking it out in front of a national audience. It is the marquee matchup on Saturday’s college football slate and one not to be missed.

The only game the Tigers lost was against this same Irish squad when superstar quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, was sitting out after testing positive for COVID-19. Notre Dame won that game, 47-40, in double overtime, and now the Tigers want redemption.

That makes for a nice storyline and one that the masses will eat up. Trevor Lawrence is back, and he’s out for revenge, which will be the reason Joe Q. Public sends his hard-earned money into the windows on the Tigers. But the Irish are not chopped liver and have been decimating their competition all year long, entering this matchup with an unblemished record. The college football odds are giving us a highly generous +300 to bet the Notre Dame as of this writing.

Should the Tigers be favored at this neutral site? Sure, but should the Irish be underdogs of this magnitude? Of course not! Let’s put a few bucks on Notre Dame to score the upset here.

Stanford might win against a tired UCLA team this week

Stanford Cardinal vs. UCLA Bruins

Saturday, December 19, 2020 - 8:00 PM ET at Rose Bowl

Stanford is fresh off of a 27-24 win over Oregon State and is seeking its fourth consecutive victory this week when they square up against UCLA. It should be noted that until last year, the Cardinal won nine straight over the Bruins and covered in all but one of those contests. However, UCLA would finally break that streak in 2019 with a 34-16 win as four-point underdogs.

The Bruins had won and covered their last four before they met their crosstown rivals from USC last week, when they bowed 43-38, and must now dust themselves off for another rival coming to town. This could be a very good spot to back the underdogs at a nice price, considering UCLA could still be exhausted from their physically and mentally draining loss to the Trojans.

We should note that Stanford is 12-2 ATS over their last 14 games in December, and they have played exceptionally well on the road recently. The sports betting is giving us +220 on the Cardinal, so who are we to refuse?
