Philly Fighter Explains Why He Slapped his Knucklemania Opponent in the Face with a Cannoli

Can’t believe I missed the Knucklemania weigh-ins in South Philadelphia. The videos are awesome. You had Jeremy Stephens flipping the double birds and ready to fight the entire city. Conor McGregor was having the time of his life. And there was a kerfuffle when Philly’s Johnny Garbarino handed his opponent a cannoli, only to pivot and slap it out of his hand instead. Kyle “Ariel Helwani” Pagan obtained an exclusive interview with Garbarino, who explained what happened with Apostle Spencer:

“He was giving me a goofy look and I felt that I just gave him a cannoli, I was being nice, welcoming him to South Philly, and he’s still giving me, like, a fucked-up look. So I slapped the cannoli and then I slapped him in the face with the cannoli. I don’t know. That’s why I did it.”

That’s as good a reason as any to slap someone in the face with a cannoli. The cannoli was a peace offering, an olive branch of sorts. You should show appreciation and gratitude. But Garbarino feels as though Spencer was giving him a “fucked-up look” and so that’s why he ended up slapping him in the face instead.
