NFL DFS First Look at DraftKings Salaries for Divisional Round

Every week the First Look article gives you a taste of the slate and some of the more intriguing salaries that DraftKings and FanDuel release. The goal is to identify early-week cash game considerations, as well as potential tournament plays before we piece together the stacking options. On Tuesdays, I share some of these insights on the Fantasy Footballers DFS & Betting Podcast if you want further commentary on some of the salary standouts.

Here are the games for this week’s main slate including team-implied totals (TIP) for each matchup.

Quarterbacks

The top-4 QBs legitimately all carry a ceiling that could break the slate. Lamar Jackson ranks as the top dawg in soooo many passing categories that it is easy to get lost what he accomplished purely as a passer in 2024:

• #1 in Fantasy Points per Dropback
• #1 in Passer Rating
• #1 in Yards per Attempt (8.8)
• #1 in Passer Rating vs Zone
• #1 in Fantasy Points per Dropbacks versus Zone AND 2-High Safety Looks

If you remove all scrambles, he still remains #1 in fantasy points per drop back by a wide margin. He is cheaper than where he was over the last month so the discount is real… Josh Allen is a one-man wrecking crew after totaling 12 rushing TDs on the ground. It allowed him to finish as a top-2 QB for the fifth year in a row but the route was unprecedented. This was 1st time over the last EIGHT years a top-5 QB failed to have a top-30 WR or top-10 TE… It will be intriguing to see how the Commanders attack this Lions defense. They lined up in shotgun on 77% of their snaps (the highest in the NFL) and the Lions saw a ton of shotgun looks all year long allowing the 4th most passing yards but the 2nd lowest completion percentage over expectation. Jayden Daniels attempted just 14 total passes while lined up under center… Jalen Hurts averaged just 18 completions and 25.5 pass attempts per game as he makes his bones in the running game. He totaled 51% of the team’s carries inside the 5, which is wild considering Saquon was fantasy’s RB1. The Rams defense certainly is improved but Hurts might get overlooked as it’s easy to have name fatigue with him at this point despite the Eagles’ success.
