EPL 2024-25 Title Betting Odds: Can Anyone Catch Liverpool?

Liverpool has a six-point lead over Arsenal as of January 21, but they also have a game in hand, playing 21 to 22 games for the Gunners. In a 38-game season, that six-point lead seems like a massive mountain to climb. The Reds looked like they were going to drop points against Brentford, but two late goals from Darwin Núñez pushed Liverpool over the hump away from home.

They are dealing with Mo Salah next team odds and rumors, but the Egyptian winger has been the best player in the league this season. Salah leads the EPL in both goals (18) and assists (13), which has Liverpool fans praying he stays at Anfield.

But Liverpool is much more than Salah. Liverpool paces the English Premier League in goals with 50, and have allowed the fewest goals with 30. Virgil van Dijk has been fantastic at the back despite his own contract issues, while Ryan Gravenberch is a revelation after being turned to a defensive midfielder by Arne Slot. Fellow midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has been briliiant as well, and Liverpool has been a sum of their parts, while having an in-form Salah.

It looks like the only thing that can stop Liverpool is injury, and they still have to navigate the Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, so a quadruple is firmly on the table! If the Reds can avoid the injury bug, they’ll be celebrating a 20^th First Division/Premier League title at Anfield in May!

The Gunners are still hanging around in the EPL title odds, despite dealing with a slew of injuries. Martin Odegaard missed two months with an ankle sprain, and when he returned, Bukayo Saka went on the trainer’s table with a torn hamstring. They’re the two most important players to Arsenal’s attack, which also recently lost Gabriel Jesus for the season to a torn ACL.

Arsenal didn’t do their title charge any favors as they didn’t make a 2-0 lead count, finishing with a 2-2 draw at home against Aston Villa. There has been much discussion about why Arsenal are so good at corners and set pieces. But that seems to be their best way to score goals, which is a problem. The January transfer window is almost closed, and there doesn’t seem to be a striker coming to the Emirates.

Arsenal’s defense is fantastic, and they’ve allowed just one more goal than Liverpool. But the lack of a legitimate striker might be their most difficult obstacle between the Gunners and a rise up the EPL title odds.

It has been a tough time for the four-time defending champs. First, they lost Rodri for the season with a torn ACL in November, right after the midfielder won the Ballon d’Or. Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne missed time to start the campaign, while goalkeeper Ederson and defender Ruben Dias have been out. That’s the spine of a team that has dominated the Premier League over the last few years.

City isn’t resting on their laurels, bringing in winger Omar Marmoush, and defenders Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis in the transfer window. Khusanov might be the more important transfer as the former Lens defender can play in the middle or as a fullback. He can also play right away.

De Bruyne, who is rumored to be heading to Major League Soccer, is healthy and playing well, which has Phil Foden back in form. We’ve also seen City go on a four-month run where they rarely lost, like last season. Erling Haaland is still up front after signing a massive new contract, and he’ll be key to their chances.

I do think there’s too much for Manchester City to do, trailing Liverpool by 12 points, and the Reds have a game in hand. However, I think they’re a chance City will track down Arsenal and make things interesting by the end of the season!

Forest finds themselves at third in the table, tied on points with Arsenal at 44, but the Gunners are +11 on goal difference. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo has Forest playing a swift, counterattacking style, and the squad defends well as they’ve allowed the third-fewest goals in the league!

Striker Chris Wood has scored 14 goals, which is one off his Premier League high. Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, and Callum Hudson-Odoi can break out with speed. The defense, led by Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo, and Ola Aina, has been fantastic. Keeper Matz Sels has brought stability between the sticks.

Forest’s biggest concern is that they’re just one or two injuries from everything crashing down. They don’t have much depth, so an injury to any of their starting 11 will be a problem. But Forest are already playing with house money at online sportsbooks after finishing 16^th and 17^th over the last two Premier League seasons. They were also deducted four points for violating the Premier League’s financial rules. But Forest has shaken that off.

While the title is probably too far away, Forest are well in the hunt for a top-four Champions League spot!
