Once I saw this picture of Cooper Flagg in a wheelchair I knew he was going to fit right at home with the Sixers:

Prayers up

At this moment you can’t convince me another team besides the Sixers will win the lottery. A 76er rookie who misses significant time with a lower body injury? David Stern couldn’t even craft a better NBA narrative. It’s almost too perfect. If you’re a top-5 pick heading to Philadelphia you’re going to end up missing substantial time in your first season. That’s just the way it goes. When the last picture Mark Tatum is holding up in a couple months is a Sixers logo you know the basketball gods will be licking their chops ready to take their pound of flesh out of Sixers fans again.
I mean this was a nasty fall. I’m glad he’s ok:
Cooper Flagg was legitimately 5 ft off The ground and rolled his ankle he might be cooked for the rest of the ACC tournament even if Duke wins today pic.twitter.com/73nGxi2MhK

The thing is you might be able to survive this at Duke, but Sixers lottery picks don’t survive falls like that. At some point the Sixers pissed off the basketball gods and they’re still collecting.
Flagg came back to sit on the bench and x-rays came back negative, but Jon Scheyer is already saying “it’s not worth it” to play him in the ACC semifinals:

Get ready to learn re-evaluated in two weeks, Coop. Before you know it that ankle injury spreads to the knee and then spreads to the thoracic outlet. It then finds its way to the face where you either get a case of Bell’s Palsy out of nowhere or your own teammate hits you so hard it breaks your orbital bone. That’s before you forget how to shoot or refuse to shoot, whichever happens first. Also, if you don’t mind stay away from the peanuts too because you never know.
