The NHL is back to its Saturday double-digit slate as they are treating fans to non-stop action from 12:30PM ET through the afternoon and night. This was already going to be a great day of hockey. Plenty of teams will look a bit bizarre, but very exciting for both fans of their respective new-look team, as well as hockey fans in general. We have our eyes on a parlay with big odds but solid value that includes a few of said new-look teams.

Let’s dive in, and don’t forget you can also get our expert NHL picks for all the big games on Saturday.

Florida Panthers win and game total under 6.4 (+264)

The Panthers currently sit 2nd in the Eastern Conference, just improved even more at the trade deadline, and have a good chance to go to the Stanley Cup Finals for the third consecutive year. Florida has won 5 straight games and 9 out of their last 10 at home. Buffalo has lost 5 straight games, their last 6 on the road, and 9 out of the last 11 against Florida. The Panthers are the better team and will have added energy from a huge acquisition of Brad Marchand.

Unless things go wrong for the Panthers or they mail it in, they should control this game. If that is the case, they should control the total as well. The under has hit in 5 out of Florida’s last 6 games and in the majority of home games this season. The Panthers are great at smothering teams and limiting opponent opportunities. They have a good chance to continue to do so against a bad Sabres team and lead to another under.

Los Angeles Kings win (-185)

Somewhat bizarrely, the Blues and Kings, from different divisions, play each other on Saturday for the third time in 5 games across a week span. The Blues have won both, but this one sets up well for the Kings. The Blues will be on the second of a road back to back. The last time they were on the road for a game in back to back days, it was on Sunday in a 6-3 loss to the Stars. St. Louis has played great since the return from the 4 Nations break, but this is a tough stretch of road games and back to backs that could bite them again.

The Kings are also expected to play with a little bit of desperation. They are winless in their last 5 games, but thanks to an underachieving division, they still hold a spot in the top 3 of the Pacific. While the Kings may not be pressing the panic button yet, they would love nothing more than to prevent this losing streak from continuing. They have been the better team all season, will be playing with urgency, and will be catching an opponent on the second of road back to backs. Look for the Kings to get back in the win column.

Dallas Stars vs Edmonton Oilers game total over 6.5 (-108)

This great Saturday slate is capped off by a true heavyweight bout between a couple of teams that could very well meet in the Western Conference Finals again. These are two extremely talented teams that both improved this week via acquisition ahead of the trade deadline. They will both have a jump in their step and the pure star power in this game gives the over plenty of appeal.

The over has been trending for both teams lately. The total has gone over in 8 out of Dallas’ last 9 games and in their last 5 on the road. The over has also hit in 6 out of Edmonton’s last 9 games, as well as in 6 out of the last 8 playing at home against Dallas. The Stars have been scoring in bunches as they have scored an average of 4.78 goals per game over their last 9. The Oilers have been volatile on both sides of the puck lately which has resulted in higher totals. Recent trends and the pure matchup make the over tough to fade in this one.
