This part of Cottman is super-dense and contains a ton of classic Northeast Philly rowhouses packed in tight, on either side of Bustleton Ave. Honest to god, the fact that this plane landed where it did is a minor miracle because youโre looking at a horrific mass casualty situation if it comes down even slightly south of the crash site, which looks to be next to the Dunkin Donuts across from Leonard Street and Rupert Street.
The TV stations have been doing a great job with this. Steve Keeley was on the scene in what felt like five seconds. Thereโs been some conflicting information though about the number of passengers, which was reported initially as six and later said to be two people, so a discrepancy there which needs clarification. The FAA said in a statement that this plane was a Learjet traveling from the Northeast Philly airport to Springfield-Branson in Missouri. It was a medical flight, and in some of the debris shots you can see an oxygen tank and similar items. It came down around 6:30 p.m. and if youโve ever been through Cottman Avenue even once in your life, you know that there are a ton of cars in this area even during non-rush hour times.
Hereโs an aerial shot of the scene. Weโll update this when more info comes out:

EDIT โ AP is saying six passengers.

Jet company owner interviewed on local TV said it was an โangel flightโ โ a girl from Mexico and her mother on the plane who had been in the US for lifesaving medical treatment. Plane was enroute to Tijuana to return the patient home as the treatment had run its course. https://t.co/06oo7WP7qo
