The NBA Clutch Player of the Year 2025 odds feature some of the best players in the league. They will compete for the Jerry West Trophy, named after the Laker great who came up massive in crunch-time situations time and time again.

I’ll inspect the NBA Clutch Player odds for the 2024-2025, and provide my thoughts on a few favorites, as well as one sleeper. I’ll then give you my betting pick and prediction at the end of this article!

Let’s dive into the 2024-2025 NBA Clutch Player of the Year odds now!

2024-2025 NBA Clutch Player of the Year Odds

PLAYER ODDS
Jalen Brunson (Knicks) -125
Trae Young (Hawks) +220
Nikola Jokić (Nuggets) +450
Darius Garland (Cavaliers) +3000
DeMar DeRozan (Kings) +5000
Stephen Curry (Warriors) +5000
Anthony Edwards (Timberwolves) +7500
Jayson Tatum (Celtics) +7500

Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks (-125) has dropped from -300, which was his price on March 11. The Knicks’ guard has been out since March 6 with an ankle injury, and won’t be back until April at the earliest. His clutch stats were so good before the injury that Brunson is still favored at NBA betting sites. However, the longer he is on the sidelines, the competition has more time to close the gap! Brunson still has an implied win probability of 55.6% to take home the award.

That competition is Atlanta’s Trae Young (+220) and Denver’s Nikola Jokić (+450). Young actually leapfrogged Jokic in the NBA Clutch Player odds, as he was +700 last week, while Jokic was +650. The Atlanta star has an implied win chance of 31.2% here. Jokic, who is also battling in the NBA MVP odds with Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, comes in at 18.2%.

The only other player with a realistic shot at winning this award is Cleveland’s Darius Garland (+3000). His implied win probability isn’t high at 3.2%, and it’s interesting that he is the Cleveland option here, and not Donovan Mitchell. But there is a reason for that, and I’ll get into it below!

Favorites for 2024-2025 NBA Clutch Player of the Year Odds

Let’s start off by looking at the favorite for Clutch Player of the Year odds. The odds have one clear favorite, with two players chasing him. I’ll give you the top three options.

Jalen Brunson (-125)

The Knicks are 3-2 in Brunson’s absence, but they needed overtime to beat a bad Portland team on the road, and they got thumped by the Los Angeles Clippers by ten points the game after Brunson got hurt.

Brunson’s injury is so worrying that many think the Knicks are a first-round upset waiting to happen if he isn’t healthy. It makes sense. No player in the league has a higher usage rate in the clutch than Brunson, which usually leads to good things for New York. He scores 52.2% of his team’s point when the chips are down.

The Knicks are also 16-8 with Brunson in clutch situations, which is why he’s the favorite in the NBA Clutch Player of the Year odds. New York will obviously take their time with him as the playoffs are the priority. But each day Brunson isn’t playing, there’s a threat that someone could overtake him, such as one of these two players.

Trae Young (+220)

Young has led the Hawks to wins in six wins in their last nine games as of March 19, and every game is huge as Atlanta tries to chase down Detroit for sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Sixth place means you’re in the postseason, and you don’t have to take part in the play-in games between the seventh through tenth seeds.

Young has more clutch field goals than anyone in the NBA, and is third in clutch usage rate behind Brunson and Mitchell. He hits 50% of Atlanta’s three-pointers in the clutch, and 58.3% of his team’s free throws. Young is also second to the Clippers’ James Harden in percentage of his team’s assists in the clutch.

So, why might Young not win the NBA Clutch Player of the Year award? Simply put, his team isn’t good. They’re 33-36 through their first 69 games. It’s fun that he’s so good in the clutch, but the Hawks are still only 18-17 with Young in those situations. It’s a lot of pressure on Young, with Jalen Johnson being injured and the Hawks trading De’Andre Hunter.

Coaches still fear Young late in the game, though, so you have to consider his 2025 NBA Clutch Player odds. But I’m looking a little further down the board!

Nikola Jokić (+450)

Jokic is rated as the second-best clutch player in the NBA behind Brunson, and he has an outlandish 63.7% effective field-goal percentage in clutch situations! He is also second to Miami’s Tyler Herro in clutch-squared situations, which means “shots crucial to game outcome”, with 26 field goals.

The three-time MVP scores 37% of Denver’s field goals down the stretch, and he snatches 41.7% of their rebounds, including 47.1% of their offensive boards to extend possession. “Joker” also assists on 37.5% of Denver’s clutch field goals.

He doesn’t have better numbers than the competition, but everything Denver does goes through Jokic. If he is defended one-on-one, he can get to the rim. If you double-team him, Jokic is definitely finding the open player. It might actually be better for the opposition to let him score, rather than Jokic picking them apart on players cutting to the rim.

The Nuggets are also battling for the second seed in the Western Conference, and I think that should put him over Young in the NBA Clutch Player odds.

The Sleepers for NBA Clutch Player odds

Next, let’s take a look at the sleeper player in these NBA Clutch Player odds, which offer a little more betting value for you at NBA betting sites.

Darius Garland (+3000)

One would think that it is Mitchell who would be the clutch standout for this great Cleveland team. But it’s actually Garland who is the most clutch.

Mitchell has more clutch field goals than Garland, with 86 to Garland’s 65. But Garland is far more efficient. He shoots 58.7% in the clutch, and what’s more, Garland has assisted on 40.9% of his team’s clutch points!

The Cavaliers have had a fantastic season and are cruising to the #1 seed in the East. They’re 21-7 with Garland in the clutch, but would they be better if Garland had the ball more instead of Mitchell? We’ll see come playoff time!

2024-2025 NBA Clutch Player of the Year Betting Pick

The race for the NBA Clutch Player award is going to come down to Brunson and Jokic, and I’m going to actually take the “Joker” here at +650! Even though the 65-game rule doesn’t apply here, if Brunson is out for the Brunson will be out until early April, at least. I think it’s a smart move to consider the value further down the board, and that’s why I’m making Nikola Jokić my NBA Clutch Player of the Year prediction! Again, he doesn’t have Young’s pure stats, but Denver is currently 16-12 with Jokic in the clutch, and that’s still a better winning percentage than the Hawks with Young.

I’m also factoring in the Nuggets’ team success, and they’re fighting for second in the West, while Atlanta has an outside chance of catching Detroit for sixth in the East. If you put that into the equation, and factor in the value that Jokic’s odds have compared to Young, I think Nikola Jokić is the right choice for NBA Clutch Player of the Year!
