Terry Rozier (Heat) under 23.5 Points/Rebounds/Assists (-115)

Odds available at DraftKings at time of publishing.

Terry Rozier was acquired from the Charlotte Hornets at the trade deadline and filled a nice void for the Heat, while Tyler Herro missed a portion of the 2nd half of the season. But with the Heat back at full strength to start the 24-25 season, I’m expecting Rozier to take a backseat. In games played with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro, Rozier recorded fewer than 24 points + rebounds + assists in 7 of 10 games.

Rozier and the Heat will be matched against the stingy Orlando Magic, who play some of the best defense in the league while also playing at one of the slowest paces. Magic-Heat has a total of just 208.5 – by far the lowest total on the slate.

DraftKings is offering a line I’m willing to pay a couple of extra cents for compared to the rest of the market. FanDuel has moved their line to 22.5 points/rebounds/assists, while BetMGM, Caesars, and Bet365 are down to 21.5.

Devin Booker (Suns) under 5.5 Assists (-115)

Odds available at Bet365 at time of publishing.

The Phoenix Suns are ready to wash last season out. They were swept in the 1st round by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2nd season with Kevin Durant and 1st with Bradley Beal in town. In addition, they’re adding point guard Tyus Jones to the starting rotation – the league leader in assists to turnover ratio last season with the Washington Wizards.

The books expect Jones to make a serious impact early on from a playmaking standpoint. His assists line is set at 7.5, while Booker is down to 5.5. Booker cleared the over in most of the games last season as the point guard, but there’s reason to believe his playmaking duties take a hit with Jones running the show. Jones should have no problem meshing with Booker, Durant, and Beal – all who can score off the dribble or catch.

The Clippers will play host to the Suns, and like the Suns, they’re dealing with moving parts. Kawhi Leonard will be sidelined, but they’re plugging in Derrick Jones Jr. For what it’s worth, the Clippers allowed the 5th fewest assists per game to the shooting guard position.
