The Rock made a shock return to the WWE at Raw on Monday night and dropped a huge hint over a blockbuster showdown with Roman Reigns.
It had been reported that a former WWE champion would be appearing on the first Raw of 2024.
Triple H responded to those rumours and said he could not confirm or deny the reports.
When the time came on Raw to introduce that former champion, Jinder Mahal walked out – much to the disappointment of the fans.
The Rock then entered and proceeded to lay Mahal out with his trademark Rock Bottom and People’s Elbow moves.
Speaking to the crowd, The Rock said: “When The Rock goes out to eat tonight in San Diego, should the The Rock sit in a booth or should The Rock sit at the bar… or should The Rock sit at the head of the table.”
It has been suggested that The Rock was hinting at a possible showdown with WWE champion Roman Reigns.
It was rumoured previously that the pair would have a match at Wrestlemania 39, but that never took place.
Speaking to Pat McAfee, The Rock said: “We got really, really close but we couldn’t actually nail what that thing was. So, we decided to put our pencils down.
“Then we agreed, ‘Hey listen, there’s a merger coming up, eventually, that will happen, there’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia…’ I’m saying that’s a potential too, I’m open.
“But again, let’s figure out what that is because the fans deserve something just incredible and unprecedented, and not only that, but I also want to deliver to the locker room and the boys and the girls back there who are working their asses off.
“What can we do to put them in a position where they are part of something that is a new change, an era in this world of pro-wrestling?”
