TGL Golf League Odds and Predictions – PGA’s Go Inside!

The TGL golf league odds are predicting a close battle among the six teams participating in this indoor-golf venture. It’s going to be interesting to see how it works, and just how seriously the players take it. You can bet that the competitive juices will start flowing once the ball is teed up!

I’ll take a look at the odds and give you my TGL golf league predictions at the conclusion of this article! Before we get there, though, let’s see how the league works.

How Does TGL Golf Work?

The TGL Golf League, created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, features six teams with four PGA Tour players on each squad.

It will be played at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach, Florida, on a massive 64×53-foot simulator. The players will hit their shots from real grass, rough, and sand, before moving to a real green from 50 yards and in. The green can also rotate to create difficult approach shots.

There have been 30 holes created specifically for the TGL Golf League, and designers weren’t restricted by natural landscapes. For example, the Temple is a 502-yard par-4 that looks similar to something you’d see in an ancient civilization. Quick Draw is a par-5 that could be 538 yards, or 720 yards!

The TGL Golf League starts on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, and will run every week, with anywhere from one to three games, which are two hours long. ESPN and ESPN+ will carry the matches every week.

TGL Golf League Format

Each game will consist of 15 holes, placed in a random order. Each hole is worth a point, and goes to the team who takes the fewest shots, and if there is a tie, there are no points given. The tiebreaker is a 3-on-3 closest to the pin showdown. Teams can also throw “The Hammer”, which doubles the amount of a hole to two points.

Teams get two points for a win, and one point for an overtime loss. All teams play in a round-robin format, and the top four teams go to the semifinals, followed by the final, then we’ll crown a champion.

TGL Odds

TEAM ODDS
Los Angeles Golf Club +350
Atlanta Drive GC +400
Boston Common Golf +400
New York Golf Club +400
The Bay Golf Club +450
Jupiter Links Golf Club +700

Los Angeles Golf Club (+350) enters the first year of the TGL Golf League as slim favorites, opening with a 22.2% implied chance of winning. Colin Morikawa anchors a very solid team from tee to green.

Then you have Atlanta Drive GC (+400), Boston Common Golf (+400), and New York Golf Club (+400) next with an implied probability of 20%! Boston Common is led by McIlroy, but New York has the #2 player in the world in Xander Schauffele, the highest-ranked player taking part in the TGL Golf League.

The Bay Golf Club (+450) is next, while Tiger Woods’ Jupiter Links Golf Club (+700) brings up the rear. While Woods has been sidelined for most of the PGA Tour season because he struggles with injuries, he can still hit golf shots and this format definitely suits him!

TGL Golf Teams

Let’s take a look at the six rosters and 24 players that you’ll find in the TGL Golf League. I’ll also include their Official Golf World Rankings in parentheses beside their names.

Los Angeles Golf Club (+350)

    • Colin Morikawa (4)
    • Sahith Theegala (13)
    • Justin Rose (45)
    • Tommy Fleetwood (9)

LAGC is owned by Venus and Serena Williams, along with Serena’s husband (and co-founder of Reddit), Alexis Ohanian. Morikawa is from Los Angeles, while Theegala hails from Orange, California. Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood are both from England. This is a strong foursome, led by fourth-ranked Morikawa.

The weakness in this team might be putting, where Theegala was the best of the bunch on the PGA Tour, ranking 48th in Strokes Gained: Putting. We all know how frustrating it is to putt at a simulator, but I’m sure the simulators they’re using are much better than the norm. If Rose can just play average golf, this team has a great shot and is deserving of being the golf betting favorites in these TGL golf league odds!

Atlanta Drive GC (+400)

    • Justin Thomas (20)
    • Patrick Cantlay (11)
    • Billy Horschel (16)
    • Lucas Glover (51)

Atlanta Drive is helmed by Atlanta Falcons’ owner Arthur Blank, and he has assembled a great team! Justin Thomas is back in the top 20 after a red-hot finish to the 2024 PGA season, but it’s Patrick Cantlay who is the highest-ranked player on the team at 11th. Billy Horschel should be one of the more entertaining players we get to see, and Lucas Glover rounds out Atlanta.

Thomas (ninth) and Glover (fifth) both ranked in the top 10 of Strokes Gained: Approach. Horschel (21st) and Glover (53rd) are both solid putters. Everyone, except Glover, had a decent season off the tee, so it’s a balanced team that will be competitive, and all players will have a role to play for Atlanta Drive!

Boston Common Golf (+400)

    • Rory McIlroy (3)
    • Hideki Matsuyama (6)
    • Keegan Bradley (12)
    • Adam Scott (18)

Boston Common is owned by Fenway Sports Group, which also owns the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. McIlroy is the highest-ranked player on the only team where all four members are ranked in the top 20.

Obviously, all four are excellent players, coming off great seasons. Everyone but Scott won on the PGA Tour this season, with McIlroy and Matsuyama winning twice each. They’re all well-rounded, although Matsuyama (121st in SG: Putting) and Bradley (125th) struggled with the flat stick this season.

However, it remains to be seen how important putting his. They’ll have one of the most competitive players on the Tour in Bradley, who will captain the United States Ryder Cup team next fall.

New York Golf Club (+400)

    • Matt Fitzpatrick (42)
    • Rickie Fowler (74)
    • Xander Schauffele (2)
    • Cameron Young (38)

New York Golf Club’s owner is Steve Cohen, who also owns the New York Mets. Cohen is coming off a big offseason, signing Juan Soto to the largest contract in sports. But Soto won’t be on this team, which has just one player in the top 35 of the world rankings.

Xander Schauffele would likely be the PGA’s Player of the Year, if it weren’t for Scottie Scheffler’s dominance. He’ll do his part as arguably the best all-around player on the PGA Tour. Fitzpatrick struggled with the driver (102nd in SG: Off the Tee) and with his irons (127th in SG: Approach). Fowler had issues everywhere, although he was 66th in SG: Putting. Cameron Young had a bad year with the putter (145th in SG: Putting). This is a team that is going to lean heavily on its star player.

The Bay Golf Club (+450)

    • Ludvig Åberg (5)
    • Wyndham Clark (7)
    • Min Woo Lee (48)
    • Shane Lowry (28)

The Bay GC was put together by Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, who is an avid golfer, and Marc Lasry, who owned the Milwaukee Bucks. Ludvig Åberg and Wyndham Clark are both top-10 players, and Aberg is thought to be one of the game’s best up-and-coming players.

Both players have solid stats across the board, although Clark was 96th in SG: Approach. Min Woo Lee is incredibly entertaining, but he was 139th in SG: Approach, and 118th in SG: Putting. Shane Lowry was strong everywhere, except with the putter (112th in SG: Putting). The onus is on Aberg and Clark to step up when one of them is having a bad night.

Jupiter Links Golf Club (+700)

    • Tiger Woods (1111)
    • Max Homa (39)
    • Tom Kim (21)
    • Kevin Kisner (823)

Jupiter Links GC brings up the rear in these TGL golf league odds, and they’re owned by Tiger Woods and David Blitzer, who has equity in a number of sports teams. Of course, Woods is the big name, but he hasn’t played since the British Open in July. The 15-time major winner finished dead last in the field at the Masters, then missed the cut at the remaining three major championships.

Kevin Kisner dropped well down the world rankings, but if he has a microphone, he might be the MVP of the TGL golf league. However, he’s the best putter in the group, ranking 75th in SG: Putting. Max Homa had a terrible year by his standards, but Tom Kim contended in a few tournaments. But in this environment, especially Woods, who doesn’t have to walk a course, this team provides some betting value for their TGL golf league odds!

TGL Golf League Prediction and Betting Pick

It’s tough to make a TGL golf league prediction here, as it’s simulator golf, but on another level. I’m going to take a little value and pick Boston Common at +400, as I think McIlroy will want bragging rights over his business partner, Woods.

The team doesn’t have any weaknesses from tee to green, and have at least two players who can dominate any match. Take Boston Common Golf at +400 in your TGL golf league predictions!
