Here’s Mikey Miss grumbling through another show. Every clip I’ve seen of this new show has been him either yelling at Bill Colarulo for not listening or calling Howard Eskin “Unwanted Kiss.” You’d think a guy who gets paid six figures and doesn’t even have to come in first in his time slot wouldn’t complain so much. This time the topic is media members celebrating in the Phillies locker room on Monday night – which featured misinformation because one of the people he named, Jamie Lynch, wasn’t even in the locker room, acording to Jamie Lynch:
Mike Missanelli talking about how some media members were celebrating in the Phillies locker room last night.
Mentions @ConnorThomas975 and @jelynchjr for “celebrating” on Twitter.

First off, I didn’t see any reporters taking selfies or making themselves the center of a celebration video and I was all over the Internet Monday night. Is there a chance Mike saw a TV personality or some other personality take a photo in the clubhouse and post it? Maybe the Inquirer’s fifth string reporter on the sports desk got caught up in the moment. I don’t know. He could also be having a senior moment and referencing Jack Fritz and James Seltzer being a part of the celebrations last year. Whatever the case, this is the classic ‘old man yells at cloud’ scenario. Back in my day, when we had ink under our fingernails and deadlines, we’d never insert ourselves into the celebration he grumbles. Who cares? Would a reporter taking a picture for a memory really risk their objective reporting anyway? Is Alex Coffey not going to be able to crush feature story after feature story because a Phillie poured champagne on her last season?
Next, Connor Thomas, who is a producer for 97.5 The Fanatic, made a video after the Phillies clinched. It wasn’t the greatest thing in the world. He could’ve thrown something Phillies on. I think we could’ve used more energy and why did the video cut off after the moneyshot??? Give the people the climax, Connor! No one has ever said no to a climax! At least you actually took the initiative to get a video up for some engagement:

I actually think this is an avenue The Fanatic should lean into more.
They need to separate themselves somehow, some way from WIP. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, The Fanatic is never going to beat WIP running the same playbook. They don’t have the legacy and they don’t have the rights to the two biggest teams in the city. But they’re younger and should be hungrier. More personalities like Connor should’ve gotten videos up and recorded some reaction videos for social. They don’t need to break down the game. The Fanatic is not in the reporter business. Sports radio has never let facts get in the way of a good story. Sure, Mike came from newspapers, but that’s not the business anymore. Nobody driving a show right now on either station have been a reporter for a newspaper other than Mike. Welcome to the content game, old man. It’s about views and clicks and not circulation numbers anymore. But now you’re Connor or some other young kid right out of college trying to make it in the business watching a legend rip one of his co-workers. That’s not really going to excite a lot of people to make more content.
And just like that. When I thought I was out Mikey Miss pulls me back in…
