The updated Super Bowl 59 odds suggest that the Kansas City Chiefs are still the team to beat. With the NFL season heading into Week 5, it’s time to evaluate the favorites and the most likely dark horses to figure out who’s going to win the Lombardi Trophy in February.
In this piece, I explore the Super Bowl 2024-2025 winner odds of the top NFL betting sites, several other markets related to the big game, and top favorites. If you read until the end, you will also see my Super Bowl prediction and best bets!
Super Bowl 59 Winner Odds
Here are the Super Bowl 59 futures odds, courtesy of Bovada, the bookmaker I’ve used for most markets in this article.
TEAM | ODDS |
---|---|
Kansas City Chiefs | +500 |
San Francisco 49ers | +650 |
Baltimore Ravens | +650 |
Detroit Lions | +900 |
Buffalo Bills | +1000 |
Houston Texans | +1000 |
Minnesota Vikings | +1000 |
Green Bay Packers | +1600 |
Philadelphia Eagles | +1800 |
Atlanta Falcons | +2800 |
New York Jets | +3300 |
Cincinnati Bengals | +3500 |
Dallas Cowboys | +4000 |
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | +4000 |
Chicago Bears | +4500 |
Pittsburgh Steelers | +4500 |
Washington Commanders | +5000 |
Los Angeles Chargers | +6000 |
It’s not surprising to see the Kansas City Chiefs (+500) as the favorites to win Super Bowl 59. They are back-to-back champions and have already won three Super Bowls over the last five seasons. They play in a relatively weak division and should have no problem hosting multiple home playoff games last season.
Despite dealing with recent injuries, the Chiefs remain a +500 betting favorite to win Super Bowl 59 at the best NFL betting sites. Despite coming off a bye week, the Chiefs’ Super Bowl odds have not shifted, and they still have an implied probability of 16.7% to win back-to-back titles.
In fact, the Chiefs’ price has fluctuated over the last two months at the top online sportsbooks. However, the Chiefs’ price has stabilized heading into Week 7 after a perfect 5-0 start to the season. The Houston Texans (+1000) have experienced the wildest odds swings since the summer.
They have been all over the place, with their Super Bowl odds dropping, rising, and everything in between. In the latest update, the Texans are back to +1000 after advancing to 5-1. The Texans were +1400 to win the Super Bowl in June, so their odds have improved, but still remain behind the top contenders.
The biggest mover has been the Minnesota Vikings (+1000), however. The Vikings were +8000 longshots to win the Super Bowl in the preseason. They are now tied with the Texans for the fifth-shortest odds!
More Super Bowl 2024-25 Odds
While the most common Super Bowl bet is to pick the outright winner, betting markets have more wagers available when it comes to the final game of the season. Here are some additional markets and the latest odds for Super Bowl 59:
Super Bowl 59 Winning Conference Odds
-
- AFC -1.5 (-110)
- NFC +1.5 (-110)
With the Chiefs being the current favorites to win Super Bowl 59, it’s not surprising to see the AFC as a slight favorite in this market. The Conference features more top-end quarterbacks (Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, C.J. Stroud, Aaron Rodgers, etc.), and that matters when it comes to the postseason.
Note that these Super Bowl odds for this market have not moved since they were initially made available in the summer. The AFC has been a -1.5 favorite on the point spread since these odds opened! Also worth noting is that the Ravens, Texans, and Bills have helped push the AFC ahead of the NFC.
Also, the over/under is currently listed at 50.5 points for Super Bowl 59. Oddsmakers expected a fairly high-scoring contest, which is currently projected to be another rematch between the Chiefs and 49ers!
Both conferences have elite teams, but the AFC is just deeper with better overall quarterback play, which explains the lower odds.
Super Bowl LIX Key Info
Super Bowl LIX (59) will be held at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 9, 2025. That game will be broadcasted by FOX, meaning that Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady will be on the call for the NFL’s biggest game.
This is the second Super Bowl broadcast that FOX will have with the last one coming in 2022 (Chiefs-Eagles). It’s also worth noting that Westwood One holds the radio rights for the Super Bowl broadcast.
Taylor Swift had the shortest odds of being named the Super Bowl halftime performer! However, Jay-Z and the NFL ultimately decided to bestow the halftime show on Kendrick Lamar.
2024-25 Super Bowl Favorites
If you’re going to bet on the Super Bowl 2024-2025 winner, you should start your analysis with the favorites. The following teams are the most likely champs next season.
Kansas City Chiefs (+500)
What more needs to be said about the Kansas City Chiefs? They have now won back-to-back Super Bowls and have hoisted the Lombardi Trophy three times since 2019. They enter the 2024 season with the goal to complete the three-peat for the first time in NFL history. The Chiefs are off to a perfect 5-0 start despite dealing with a host of injuries to the offense.
The Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2024-2025 odds have settled in at +500 after experiencing an up-and-down road this summer. They opened as a +425 favorite, and then witnessed a jump to +550. Public sentiment was falling on the Chiefs before they dropped to +500 before kickoff for this season.
Although the Chiefs lost Rashee Rice to an ACL injury, they had no issues clearing the New Orleans Saints in Week 5. The Chiefs pulled away for a 26-13 win to oust the Saints on the road. TE Travis Kelce is beginning to wake up following a slow start, while WR Xavier Worthy is developing into a dangerous deep ball threat
Rice recently underwent surgery to repair his ACL, but the Chiefs are remaining optimistic that he could return this season. The best-case scenario is likely having Rice ready for the playoffs. However, Mahomes has to prepare for a full year without his favorite slot target.
WR Marquise Brown was injured early in the season and will be unavailable until at least January. Brown figured to be a focal point of the offense, but he and Rice are in the same position in the rehab room.
Nevertheless, as long as QB Patrick Mahomes is healthy, the Chiefs will always be a dangerous threat offensively. There were brief rumors about the Chiefs swinging a deal for Davante Adams, but the Jets acquired the talented receiver from the Las Vegas Raiders.
On the defensive side of the ball, the defense remains mostly intact, with Chris Jones signing a monster extension this offseason. They lost impact cornerback L’Jarius Sneed to free agency, but the secondary has still held up reasonably well.
As long as Mahomes is healthy, the Chiefs should be the favorites to win any Super Bowl. He is the undisputed best player in the NFL, and it’s only right that the Chiefs are monster favorites to win Super Bowl LIX this year. As the second richest owner in the NFL, Clark Hunt is likely in for another huge payday!
San Francisco 49ers (+650)
For the second time in five years, the San Francisco 49ers held a lead late in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. And once again, they were unable to close out the game. They’ve been the NFC’s best team for the better part of the last five seasons, and have yet to find a way to finish in the biggest games of the year.
The good news for San Francisco is that they remain the favorites to win the conference despite a .500 record through Week 6. The 49ers have arguably the best roster in the NFL, and Brock Purdy is only getting better each season.
However, from watching the 49ers this season, you wouldn’t know they have the best odds to win the NFC Championship. The 49ers have won three of their first six games and are in a tie with the Seattle Seahawks for the lead in the NFC West.
It hasn’t been a stellar start for the 49ers, but they are still the top contenders to beat, according to the latest 2024-25 Super Bowl betting odds.
The thought process with the 49ers maintaining a top price is quite simple. Bettors believe RB Christian McCaffrey will make his return in time for the playoffs, and the 49ers’ offense should be humming. Currently, McCaffrey’s timeline for a return is still a major question mark.

The Brandon Aiyuk contract saga came to an end just in time for Week 1. After a back-and-forth between Aiyuk and 49ers’ management throughout the summer, the wide receiver came to terms on a four-year, $120M extension. Aiyuk had been demanding a trade, but the 49ers reeled him back in with a bag of money.
The 49ers’ Super Bowl 59 odds reacted favorably to the news, as their price pushed down to +625 from +650. In addition to Aiyuk’s contract, the 49ers came to terms with left tackle Trent Williams. However, the mediocre start to the season hasn’t pushed the 49ers’ price in a favorable direction.
San Francisco is coming off a huge 36-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks this past week on Thursday Night Football. This could be a season-changing victory for the 49ers. They appear to have their confidence and momentum back, so look for them to improve considerably on their 3-3 record.
Baltimore Ravens (+650)
The Ravens are back in the top three after an impressive win over the Bills in Week 4. Entering last week, the Ravens had +1200 odds to win the Super Bowl. They are down to +650 following a 4-2 start and three consecutive wins.
Following the 35-10 win over the Bills, the Ravens were +800 to win the Super Bowl. Two wins later, including over the Bengals and Commanders, the Ravens’ Super Bowl 59 betting odds have dipped to +650!
For the Ravens to reach their full potential, there are some faults with this Ravens’ side that must be resolved. They lost some key defenders in the offseason, and the secondary has been vulnerable as expected with these departures.
The Ravens are just 31st in the NFL, with 275.7 yards passing allowed per game.
However, the offense is in top form, and Derrick Henry is having one of the best seasons of his career in Baltimore. The QB option with Lamar Jackson and Henry is killing defenses with the amount of pressure they’re applying.
Derrick Henry so far this season has been incredible:
#1 in Rushing Yards
#1 in Rushing Touchdowns
#1 in Carries
#1 in Rushing Yards per game
Has the longest rushing touchdown this year
Averaging 5.9 YPC, the highest in his career pic.twitter.com/3zhN7GHwrt— The Ravens Realm (@RealmRavens) October 15, 2024
If the Ravens can get their defense in order, they are going to be a tough assignment for any team in the playoffs. Jackson needs an elite defense for postseason success, and this isn’t it at the moment.
The Bengals gave them a tough game in Week 5, but the Ravens prevailed in overtime by a score of 41-38. They responded with a touchdown victory over the Commanders.
With future games against the Buccaneers, Browns, and Broncos, they have a great chance to advance to 7-2 over the next three matchups! Look for the Ravens to remain one of the favorites to win Super Bowl 59 through October.
Detroit Lions (+900)
The Detroit Lions are by themselves with the fourth-shortest odds at Bovada. Following a 47-9 dismantling of the Dallas Cowboys, the Lions’ odds to win Super Bowl 59 dropped to +900 from +100. They are off to a 4-1 start through the first five games of the season.
Coming off a bye week, the Lions were well-prepared to embarrass the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium. The offense was in dynamic form, as they scored via multiple offensive sets and plays.
Whether it was a double-reverse flea flicker to Sam LaPorta, or David Montgomery running hard to the end zone, the offense was flawless for the Lions.

This is typical for a Lions squad that is equipped with an array of weapons, including one of the best offensive lines in football.
QB Jared Goff has passed for 1,330 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions on 71.1% completions. These may not be video game numbers, but the Lions’ offense is well-balanced and striking in several different means to keep defenses guessing.
While the offense is rolling, the Lions received bad news with a gruesome injury to Aidan Hutchinson in their win over Dallas.
Hutchinson broke his left tibia and fibula, which is a season-ending injury. It’s a long shot that Hutchinson will be ready for the playoffs, which hurts the Lions and his Defensive Player of the Year odds.
The Lions have the offensive prowess, but Hutchinson’s absence should be felt in the trenches in key games. That being said, the Lions still have a capable defense, but without Hutchinson, it might be difficult to get over the top!
Best Sleepers For Super Bowl 59
There are always a handful of teams that rise up each season and become legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Lions, Packers, and Texans certainly qualify from the 2023 season with all three teams reaching the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Which teams could be potential Super Bowl sleepers in 2024/25? Here are three teams to watch going into the year. Let’s dive into our top longshot Super Bowl 59 predictions:
-
Cincinnati Bengals (+3500)
Although the Bengals are off to a miserable 2-4 start, I’m not giving up on them just yet. The defense responded well following a 41-38 overtime loss to the Ravens against the Giants. They made some big plays to foil Daniel Jones for a 17-7 victory.
It was a much-needed confidence boost for a Bengals squad that has a knack for starting slow. Last season, it took the Bengals a month to find their stride, and were in great form before QB Joe Burrow exited with a season-ending wrist injury.
The fact remains, though, that the Bengals’ only wins this season are against the Giants and Panthers. While this is true, the Bengals were a play or two away from defeating the Chiefs and Ravens. The Chiefs have the best odds to win the Super Bowl and the Ravens are second, so they’ve been competitive versus quality squads.
At a generous price of +3500, the Bengals are worth considering to win Super Bowl 59!
-
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+4000)
There were a wide array of different opinions regarding the Tampa Bay Buccaneers entering this season. Finding a consensus has not been easy with this Bucs squad. However, they’ve managed to quiet the doubters within the first month.
Baker Mayfield masterclass today:
347 Pass YDs | 3 TDs (1 Rush) 🔥@FedEx pic.twitter.com/XBzLIl9Qkz
— NFL (@NFL) September 29, 2024
The Buccaneers are coming off a huge 51-27 win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 6. With the strong performance from QB Baker Mayfield, he’s brought his numbers up to 1,489 yards passing, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions on 70.9% passing.
Mayfield is playing with a chip on his shoulder, which has translated into success on the football field. He has multiple weapons to work in this offense, including Mike Evans and Chris Godwin who are both playing at a high level.
With a record of 4-2, Tampa is currently tied with the Falcons for the top spot in the NFC South. I view the Buccaneers as a playoff team again this season, so at +4000, this is crazy value that we’re getting at the moment.
It won’t be an easy road to New Orleans, but at +4000, they should be considered for your Super Bowl best bets!
Super Bowl Winner Prediction
Finally, I feel obliged to share my Super Bowl 59 winner prediction. The obvious choice is to back the Chiefs, but the odds for them are too short and there’s a reason no team has managed to three-peat so far.
The Chiefs are also dealing with a slew of injuries to their offense. Mahomes will continue to hold the Chiefs up, but there is a point where losing Rice and Brown may come back to hurt this team in the playoffs.
Buffalo’s offense has been hit-and-miss, but they are beginning to find a groove without WR Stefon Diggs. TE Dalton Kincaid got off to a lethargic start this season. However, Kincaid and others, including WR Curtis Samuel, are finding a role in the offense.
Following a tough 23-20 loss to the Texans, the Bills were able to respond with a hard-fought 23-20 win over the Jets this past week. In such a wide-open season where I don’t identify a clear favorite, the Bills are the top Super Bowl 59 pick on the board at +1000 odds!
The Bills are right up there with the Chiefs and Ravens, and they have much stronger betting value at +1000 as opposed to their rivals. Every team has flaws, including the Chiefs and Ravens.
I believe the price for the Bills is way too low, most likely because of recency bias. Getting +1000 for a team of such quality is way too high, so that’s my Super Bowl 59 betting pick.
