Phillies Legend Pete Rose Passes Away at 83

Tough Monday if you’re a sports fan. Former Phillies World Series Champ, Pete Rose, passed away at 83:

The Hit King finished with 4,256 hits which will probably be a record until most of us reading this are in the ground. I obviously wasn’t alive to watch him, but it was obvious he was still beloved in Philly to this day. You still see Pete Rose jerseys around CBP and he received a good reaction from Phillies fans when he returned a couple years ago to celebrate the 1980 World Series champ – a day that didn’t end without controversy.

He wasn’t a perfect dude, but he played baseball probably harder than anyone in the history of the MLB. This guy loved the game:

Eduardo Perez, who was childhood best friends with Pete Rose Jr., announced the passing live on ESPN after the Mets and Braves doubleheader:

You just know the Hall of Fame is going to give Rose a posthumous induction and it’s going to be the biggest bullshit ever. The induction speech will probably be sandwiched in between two gambling ads.
