Favorites for Paris 2024 Women’s 3×3 Basketball
The Paris 2024 3×3 women’s basketball odds at sports betting sites indicate the tournament will come down to a rivalry match between the USA and Canada. Also, Australia can’t be slept on as one of the contenders.
Let’s delve into the top favorites and an overview of the most likely gold medal winners at Paris 2024:
USA (+150)
Based on Team USA’s FIBA 3×3 world rankings, they were able to bypass the Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. Currently, the USA ranks second in the world in women’s 3×3 basketball.
The Los Angeles Sparks’ Dearica Hamby and Atlanta Dream’s Rhyne Howard are expected to go to Paris 2024. Cameron Brink also made the team, but she will be absent due to a torn ACL. Howard is dealing with an ankle injury she suffered earlier this year in a WNBA game, so her status is unclear.
At the moment, Howard is listed on the USA’s 3×3 basketball roster for the Summer Olympics. The No. 1 pick of the 2022 WNBA Draft has averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game with the Dream this season. In addition to WNBA players, the USA roster includes 3-on-3 basketball veteran Cierra Burdick.
Burdick is an experienced 3×3 player with gold medals at the 2014 FIBA 3×3 World Cup and the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Cup. Additionally, she and Team USA won the gold medal at the 2023 Pan American Games. The country also won gold at Tokyo 2020, but this is a different roster.
We agree. This is a pretty good reason to go to Paris.

One of the more recognizable women’s college basketball players also made the 3×3 basketball roster. Former LSU star and current TCU Horned Frog, Hailey Van Lilth, joins the team as a talented 3×3 basketball player. She isn’t new to the 3×3 game and was a member of the gold medal-winning team at the World Cup.
The Americans have a strong mix of experience and young legs to do big damage in the Paris 2024 3×3 women’s tournament!
Canada (+200)
The Canadians are coming off a flawless performance to clinch a berth to Paris 2024 in a must-win situation against Hungary. They pulled away for a 21-10 win to punch their ticket to the Olympics. The win was required after dropping a 19-18 nail-biter to Spain in the semifinals.
Former Utah basketball standout, Paige Crozon, has been at the forefront of Canada’s recent success in 3×3 women’s basketball. In 2022, the team had their best result with a silver medal in the 2022 FIBA 3×3 World Cup!
Alongside Crozon, sisters Katherine Plouffe and Michelle Plouffe are integral to Canada’s strong results. Michelle played for Team Canada’s 5-on-5 basketball squad at London 2012 and Rio 2016.

In addition to a silver in the World Cup, this trio has won back-to-back FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series titles and the 2022 AmeriCup champions. They are also coming off a 3x3WSEdmonton title this month, where Katherine was named the MVP of the tournament.
Aside from the loss to Spain at the recent Olympic Qualifying Tournament, they are in impressive form. Is it enough to overcome the talented Americans, though? With the Plouffe sisters and Crozon all in the top 3 in the 3×3 women’s individual world rankings, I’d say they have a great chance!
Australia (+275)
Team Australia’s quartet for Paris 2024 should have a productive impact. The Perth Lynx’s Anneli Maley of the Women’s National Basketball League is well-positioned to be one of the best players in the tournament.
Maley will team with Merena Whittle, Alex Wilson, and Lauren Mansfield. The four have had experience working together over the last two years.
They captured the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup and earned a place in the Olympics earlier this year in the FIBA 3×3 Universality Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Japan.

The are coming off a solid showing at the 2023 FIBA 3×3 World Cup with a bronze medal. Despite coming up short of the gold, it was a strong performance.
Australia is a team that could surprise a few people but may need to catch a couple of breaks along the way to win gold!
Top Women’s 3×3 Basketball Sleepers for Paris 2024
Two dark horses are worth considering in the Paris 2024 3×3 women’s basketball odds at Bovada. Although these nations have an improbable chance of winning the tournament, it is expected to be competitive and anything could happen!
-
Spain should have a solid dose of confidence entering Paris 2024. After defeating Canada in the semifinals of the Olympic Qualifying Tournament, this team knows that they can hang with the best in the world.
Additionally, the Spaniards are coming off a recent championship in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Bordeaux on July 10. They upended France for a 16-14 win in enemy territory! Spain shouldn’t be a +1000 longshot to win the gold medal, so this is a terrific value play.
-
I am not as confident in Germany as a sleeper pick, but they are worth a small wager at +2000. The German side earned a trip to the Paris Olympic Games with an impressive performance in Hungary in May.
Germany went 5-0, including an Olympic-clinching 19-17 win over Hungary in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament. It was a matchup with a ticket to the Olympics on the line, and Germany persevered against the host country.
The Germans will need a few lucky bounces, but they stand a better chance of winning gold than their implied probability of 4.8% suggests!
Olympic 3×3 Basketball Women’s Prediction and Betting Pick
The women’s Olympic 3×3 basketball tournament should be a competitive affair. The top three favorites and even underdog Spain has a chance to strike gold. That being said, chemistry is of utmost importance in these major international tournaments. With this in mind, I have to side with Team Canada at +200!
While the US is a talented squad, Howard’s uncertain status is a huge question mark to consider. Even if she is active, Howard hasn’t played since June 19. Asking her to find chemistry on the 3×3 court after coming off an extended layoff is dicey.
The squad with the best chance of being in sync is Team Canada. Led by the Plouffe sisters, who rank No. 1 and No. 3 in the world, Canada should get off to a quick start in Paris. Additionally, Crozon is the No. 2 ranked player worldwide, to give the Canadians a deadly 1-2-3 combo!
Canada has the top betting value on the board at +200, so give the Plouffes and company strong consideration for your Olympic 3×3 women’s basketball pick!
