Nick Sirianni Has the Same Amount of Apologies as Wins After Shaving His Head

Nick Sirianni started his press conference by apologizing to Eagles fans for his outburst after beating the Browns:

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I hate this. That apology was hollow. After going on and on for a minute he went longer with an entire word salad about how great the fanbase is and how we have the best fans in the blah, blah, blah, blah. We’re not idiots dude. We know they called you into the principal’s office.

There’s one of two things that must be happening behind the scenes. He’s a guy in the midst of an identity crisis that wakes up every day not knowing what Nick Sirianni people are going to get. Because if the players wanted him to be that way on the sideline then there’s no reason for him to apologize. I think a lot of people would’ve respected Sirianni more than they do if he doubled down and was like, “I gave them a taste of their own medicine and it was friendly banter.” The sad part is, I don’t know if he’s intelligent enough to deliver the message, or even allowed to.

Because the second thing that could’ve happened, which is most likely the case, is he was reprimanded by Howie Roseman and Jeffrey Lurie. If that’s the case, it’s another notch in the belt for the fanbase that thinks Lurie and Roseman meddle too much in decisions. Because if they told him he needed to apologize that just muddies things up even more and shows a disconnect between what the players want and what ownership and the front office wants. You’re sharing one message in the locker room and then sharing an entirely different message with the suits. Now he’s being pulled in two different directions and I don’t think he’s a coach that can handle it.

This is probably heading towards a cliff. Remember when Doug Pederson showed up to his last Eagles press conference looking like this?

It feels like we’re not far from that with Nick Sirianni. Look at this guy. He looks ROUGH! And this is after a win:

That looks like a guy who had too much pop at Xfinity Live! and got arrested because he refused to get off the bull, not your head coach who took you to a Super Bowl less than two years ago.
