NFC East Betting Odds and Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles are the betting favorites in the preseason NFC East odds. Philly started last season 10-1, but then lost six of their next seven games. The Eagles could benefit from the moves, or lack thereof, by the other teams in the NFC East.

This guide will break down the odds to win the NFC East for every team in the conference at the top online NFL sportsbooks. I will also tell you about every team’s biggest offseason moves and how they affect their odds to win the division this year.

NFC East 2024-25 Winner Odds

The NFC East was a two-team race last season between the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas benefited from Philadelphia’s second-half collapse. See the table below to see the latest NFC East winner odds, courtesy of Bovada Sportsbook.

Team NFC East Odds Record Last Year
Philadelphia Eagles -120 11-6
Dallas Cowboys +160 12-5
Washington Commanders +950 4-13
New York Giants +1200 6-11

Philadelphia is the -120 preseason favorite to win the NFC East this year, according to most NFL betting lines. Last year’s winners, the Cowboys, are listed at +160 to repeat as champions this year. Washington and New York round out the division at +950 and +1200, respectively.

The Eagles would have won the division last year, if not for one of the worst late-season collapses in recent memory. Philly’s poor play kept a division streak alive: no team has repeated as champions since the 2003 and 2004 Eagles. Dallas will have to break that streak to repeat as NFC East champions this season.

Philadelphia Eagles (-120)

  • NFC East Position in 2023-24: 2nd
  • Key Players In: Devin White (LB), C.J. Gardner-Johnson (DB), Saquon Barkley (RB)
  • Key Players Out: Jason Kelce (C), Haason Reddick (LB), Fletcher Cox (DT)
  • Head Coach: Nick Sirianni

The Eagles appeared immune to the Super Bowl hangover, starting last season 10-1. Then it all fell apart, with Philly losing five of its last six games in the regular season. Philly squeaked into the playoffs, but lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round.

Despite their skid at the end of last season, the Eagles are favored to win the NFC East this season. Their roster is ready to win a Super Bowl now, and anything less than a Lombardi Trophy could lead to significant changes. Head Coach Nick Sirianni could be on the hot seat if the Eagles do not live up to expectations.

Philadelphia lost key players in the trenches. Future Hall of Fame Center Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox, a six-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro DT, retired. Philly traded DE Haason Reddick to the New York Jets.

The Eagles wasted no time in making moves in free agency. They signed LB Devin White and RB Saquon Barkley to fill key needs on offense and defense. Philadelphia also reunited with CB C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who will join rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in a retooled defensive backfield.

Dallas Cowboys (+160)

  • NFC East Position in 2023-24: 1st
  • Key Players In: Eric Kendricks (LB), Ezekiel Elliott (RB),
  • Key Players Out: Tony Pollard (RB), Tyron Smith (OT), Tyler Biadasz (C)
  • Head Coach: Mike McCarthy

The defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys have the second-best odds to win the division this season. They finished as the second seed in the NFC last year, but they lost in the Wild Card round to Green Bay. Dallas has been in the spotlight ahead of this season, but most of the attention has been for negative reasons.

Team owner Jerry Jones said the team was “all-in” this offseason, but the team’s actions have not aligned with that sentiment.

Dallas lost key players across the board this, including starting RB Tony Pollard. Starting offensive linemen Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz also left Dallas this offseason. DE Dante Fowler, DT Neville Gallimore, CB Noah Igbinoghene, and LB Leighton Vander Esch will also not return this year.

The Cowboys had a quiet offseason in terms of signing players. They reunited with RB Ezekiel Elliott, and signed veteran LB Eric Kendricks. However, their cap issues have prevented them from bidding on star free agents. Dallas also has three star players awaiting new contracts: QB Dak Prescott, WR CeeDee Lamb, and LB Micah Parsons.

Head Coach Mike McCarthy is also in the last year of his contract. If the team stumbles in the playoffs again, then McCarthy and others could be looking for a new team next year.

Washington Commanders (+950)

  • NFC East Position in 2023-24: 4th
  • Key Players In: Jayden Daniels (QB), Austin Ekeler (RB), Bobby Wagner (LB)
  • Key Players Out: Curtis Samuel (WR), Jacoby Brissett (QB), Antonio Gibson (RB)
  • Head Coach: Dan Quinn

Up next in the current NFC East champions odds is the Washington Commanders. Washington made a ton of moves this offseason, including drafting a new franchise QB. The team took Jayden Daniels out of LSU with the second overall pick.

Washington also changed its head coach, moving on from Ron Rivera and hiring Dan Quinn. Quinn has spent the last few seasons as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator, and was previously the Head Coach in Atlanta.

In addition to Daniels, Washington added plenty of veteran names to its roster. They signed RB Austin Ekeler, LB Bobby Wagner, and TE Zach Ertz. If Daniels is the real deal, the Commanders could be a surprise playoff team this season.

The Commanders did not lose many players in free agency. That is because they started their teardown in the middle of the season, trading DE Chase Young and DE Montez Sweat at the trade deadline.

Losing veterans like WR Curtis Samuel and RB Antonio Gibson could hurt, but they are not irreplaceable. Washington could regret letting journeyman QB Jacoby Brissett walk, especially if Daniels struggles to transition to the NFL.

New York Giants (+1200)

  • NFC East Position in 2023-24: 3rd
  • Key Players In: Brian Burns (DE), Malik Nabers (WR), Drew Lock (QB)
  • Key Players Out: Saquon Barkley (RB), Xavier McKinney (S), Darren Waller (TE)
  • Head Coach: Brian Daboll

Rounding out the odds to win the NFC East are the New York Giants. The G-Men finished third in the division last year, but after failing to address the QB position, New York has the longest odds to win the division at +1200.

Rather than drafting a QB, the Giants added WR Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick. They also traded for veteran pass rusher Brian Burns and signed QB Drew Lock.

Lock could make an impact early if he is forced to start. QB Daniel Jones is working his way back from injury and may not be ready for the start of the season. Nabers will also need to step up and make plays early on, as the team lost its best player, RB Saquon Barkley, to the rival Eagles in free agency.

New York will also have to make do without TE Darren Waller and S Xavier McKinney. Waller retired, and McKinney signed with the Packers in free agency.

As their odds to win the NFC East suggest, expectations for the Giants are low this season. Barring a miraculous turnaround by Jones, the team will likely look to upgrade at QB next year. Head coach Brian Daboll could also be out of a job if the Giants decide to clean house.

NFC East 2025 Predictions and Best Bet

By Thanksgiving last season, only two teams in the NFC East were relevant. The same is likely to be true this season, with the Cowboys and Eagles battling it out for division supremacy.

The Commanders would need a great season out of rookie QB Jayden Daniels to even make a Wild Card spot. Likewise, the New York Giants have major talent deficiencies at key positions. I doubt either team is relevant in the divisional race after Halloween.

That leaves the Eagles and the Cowboys to battle it out to see who will win the NFC East. Dallas still has plenty of talent on its roster, even if the players themselves are not totally happy with management. The Cowboys have also won at least 12 games each of the last three years.

I think the lack of a running game will come back to haunt the Cowboys and open the door for Philadelphia to win the division. The Eagles improved their defense, so it should no longer be one of the worst units in the league. With that in mind, I believe Philadelphia is the best bet to win the NFC East this season.
