The NBA season is 75 percent complete, and teams are looking to make a final push toward the playoffs. There are six games scheduled for Monday, March 11. I will look at four of those games with the Cavaliers hosting the Suns in the headlined matchup.
Phoenix Suns versus Cleveland Cavaliers
Phoenix enters the game sixth in the Western Conference, and Cleveland is third in the Eastern Conference. The Suns are “burning hot” after a 4-2 stretch, and Cleveland is “average down” alternating wins and losses of their last six. The teams are trending in games “under” the line, and the score prediction is Phoenix, 120-114 with 56 percent confidence. Phoenix holds a +17 to +15 edge on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams have not yet met this season. Phoenix has an excellent 16-13 road record, and Cleveland is 21-11 at home. I like Cleveland at home by five points or less in a game “under” the line.
Golden State Warriors versus San Antonio Spurs
San Antonio has been eliminated from playoff consideration with the worst record in the Western Conference while Golden State is ninth and in the playoff mix. The Warriors are 4-2 over the last six but have lost two of the last three. San Antonio is 2-4 during the same stretch. Despite just four games over .500 for the season, the Warriors are three games over .500 on the road. San Antonio is only 7-21 at home. The teams are trending in games “under” the line and the score prediction is Golden State by a score of 122-109 with 66 percent confidence. The teams split the first two meetings between the teams this season. The Warriors have more to play for and I like them on the road in a game “under” the line.
Toronto Raptors versus Denver Nuggets
Denver comes in “burning hot” after winning five of the last six games, and the Raptors are on the opposite side of the coin, just 2-4 of the last six and “ice cold down” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Denver has a +25 to +8 advantage on the Power Ranks Indicator. The teams are trending in games on opposite sides of the over/under line, making me avoid the bet in this game. Denver has an excellent home record of 25-6 but Toronto is only 10-21 on the road. The score prediction is for the Nuggets to win by 121-111 score with 87 percent confidence. Denver won the first meeting between the teams this season by nine points. The Nuggets have much more to play for with Toronto all but out of the playoff picture. Go with Denver to win by at least ten points.
Boston Celtics versus Portland Trail Blazers
Boston has the best record in the NBA but has lost two straight and “average” on the Team Strength Oscillator. Portland has the second-worst record in the Western Conference and “ice cold down” after going 2-4 over the last six. Boston is +27 to +3 on the Power Ranks Indicator and has a 19-11 road record versus Portland’s 9-21 home mark. Both teams are among the most consistent in the league with regards to their favorite/underdog status. The teams have been trending on opposite sides of the line with Boston predicted to win by eight with 59 percent confidence. I like the Celtics by double-digits in a game “over” the line.
