The long-awaited return of Joel Embiid is finally here as the former MVP makes his season debut tonight against the Knicks. KAT will have his hands full dealing with Embiid down low, so his best course of action might be to step outside the perimeter and try knocking down some threes. He has played really well on offense for the Knicks, scoring 30+ points in 3 straight games. The three-ball is also going in, after connecting on an unreal 72% of attempts in October, he’s shooting a more realistic 46% this month. That’s still among the best marks in the NBA, especially for big men. Only two teams in the NBA are worse at defending the three-ball than the Philadelphia 76ers currently. They allow 37.8% of shots from distance to go in, so expect a ton of attempts by the Knicks here.

Kelly Oubre Jr. 2+ Made Threes (+140)

Oubre Jr. is 2nd on the team in scoring right now, behind the injured Tyrese Maxey. That’s particularly impressive considering his efficiency hasn’t been the best through the first couple of weeks of the season. That all changes with the return of Embiid though. Oubre as well as other Sixers players will dominate just from the big fella’s presence down low, as opposing teams swarm to try and stop him from scoring. That should open things up a bit for the 76ers shooters who will get some open looks, Oubre is experienced enough to knock those shots down. New York’s three-point defense over the last 3 games hasn’t been all that good with opponents shooting 37.7% from deep. In his last 4 games against the Knicks he has cleared this line 3 times, while shooting 52% from the field and over 38% from downtown.

Joel Embiid to Score 25+ Points (-115)

Did you really think I would leave out Joel Embiid from my Same Game Parlay on the night he makes his season debut? The Knicks are arguably the most vulnerable team in the NBA is as on the inside, they just don’t have anyone to throw at Embiid here. As good as Karl Anthony Towns has been on the offensive end for New York, opposing centers are having a field day scoring down low against him on a nightly basis. KAT is more of a finesse player, so Embiid should be able to use his physicality here. He’s averaging almost 33 points per game in the last 10 meetings, so despite this being his first game of the season, scoring 25 points should be a relatively easy task. Tyrese Maxey is already out, Paul George is struggling shooting the ball, so the offense will once again fall on the shoulders of the big fella. There is no doubt in my mind he will lead the 76ers in points tonight.
