NBA Cleveland Cavaliers vs Philadelphia 76ers same game parlay picks: Cavs overcome big night from Maxey at +454 odds

Cleveland Cavaliers' Darius Garland advances the ball during the first half of an NBA basketball game against the Chicago Bulls Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, in Chicago.

Both the Cavaliers and 76ers suffered losses in their first game post the All-Star break, so tonight’s game is a good opportunity for both teams to bounce back as they clash for the 3rd time this season. I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay to make things a bit more interesting. Continue reading below to see it.

CLE Cavaliers -3.5 Point Spread (-108)

Tyrese Maxey to Score 30+ Points (+195)

Same Game Parlay odds: +454

CLE Cavaliers -3.5 Point Spread (-108)

Donovan Mitchell is dealing with an illness right now, so we’re not sure if he’s coming back in time for tonight’s game in Philadelphia. Despite his absence though, the Cavs enter the game as 3.5-point favorites after losing last night to Orlando at home. Offensively they actually played a solid game, with all 5 starters scoring in double figures and shooting over 50% as a unit. The 76ers are just the opponent Cleveland needs right now, to score an easy win and get back on track.

Philadelphia’s injury issues are getting worse by the day it feels like. Last night they suffered a tough 110-96 loss to New York, Tyrese Maxey was the only reliable scoring option with 35 points. Carrying an entire franchise on your back is no easy task and Maxey is learning that the hard way. There’s still no timetable set for a Joel Embiid return, the Sixers are fighting hard to stay afloat without their MVP big man. They’re just 3-10 SU in their last 13 games and have failed to cover in 7 straight at Wells Fargo Center. I’m taking the Cavaliers to cover as road favorites here.

Tyrese Maxey to Score 30+ Points (+195)

Maxey was the only bright spot in last night’s defeat to New York, as he torched the Knicks for 35 points, scoring over 1/3 of the 76ers total. Being the number one scoring option has its advantages – one of them is that Maxey can take as many shots as he wants, even when he’s shooting under 50% from the field. He’s averaging almost 26 points per game in his last 7 outings, while against the Cavs he’s at 25 per game in the 3 most recent meetings. Cleveland has slipped a little when it comes to perimeter defense, allowing opponents to shoot 46.4% from downtown in their last 3 games, only the Utah Jazz have a lower mark than that in the entire NBA during this stretch. I’m hoping Maxey can take advantage of that, otherwise the 76ers might get blown out here.
