Jon Marks’ Information is Telling Him That Mike Missanelli is Close to a 97.5 the Fanatic Return

Jonny Marks had some Mike Missanelli intelligence on his latest YouTube show:

“…Mike Missanelli will be back at the Fanatic, my information is telling me, for football season… I don’t know with who, I don’t know what happens other than that, my information is saying that they are in deep discussions and also that Mike has more or less kind of been maybe waiting for football season to start to come back.”

At last check, Mike confirmed that 97.5 the Fanatic made him an offer. That was about a month ago, when he went on his BetRivers podcast and said this following the surprise departure of Beasley’s Philadelphia Vice President and Market Manager, Joe Bell:

“My old station fired their general manager. This was the same general manager that decided not to renew my contract two years ago, almost to the day. He’s gone. I don’t know what’s going to happen at that station. I will tell you this, however – that station, in the last couple of months, has made me an offer. I can’t tell you much more about that, because if the offer was satisfactory to me, I probably would be on the radio. But at this point, it is not. So with new management coming in, I have no idea what will happen here.”

The only new information I can add is that is that a couple of people over there are working without contracts. That’s been the case beyond the reshuffle that saw Andrew Salciunas go to mornings and Bob Cooney move to middays, plus the layoffs of Jen Scordo and Pat Egan. With the Missanelli thing simmering, and seeming to be a real possibility despite a painfully slow process, they spent the spring and summer talking through some other options and tried some different talent combinations on middays with Cooney. They essentially left that final piece of the puzzle dangling out there knowing that when football season came around, they’d make a decision and actually finalize that lineup. That’s the gist based on what super secret sources close to the situation have said.
