John Tortorella Doesn’t “Give a Shit” What Cutter Gauthier Says About Circling the Flyers Game on the Calendar

The Flyers play the Ducks on Saturday night in the hockey Mecca known as Anaheim. Cutter Gauthier, who quit on the Flyers and now plays in obscurity for a team that no one cares about, said he’s had the Philadelphia game circled on his calendar:

“It’s definitely been a game circled on my calendar and I’m super excited to play.”

“Obviously with all that happened, it’s definitely been a game circled on my calendar and I’m super excited to play. There’s been a lot of anticipation leading up to the game, so I’m ready to go out there and play my game… I feel like all of it’s just media and all of it’s noise. The more and more you listen to that, the more you get inside your own head and let it affect your play. That was a great lesson for me, not to let little people, people all over the media dictate how I feel and how I perform. That was a big lesson for me and I feel like I did a really good job learning how to not let it affect me on the ice. That was the biggest thing, biggest learning point for me.”

John Tortorella, who once said that he does not know Gauthier “from a hole in the wall,” was asked about the comments after Friday’s practice:

“I don’t give shit what he says. I’m not interested in answering questions about Cutter Gauthier. I don’t wish anything bad on the kid. I’m not gonna answer any questions about him.”

Ok fair enough. If you haven’t been paying attention, the Ducks stink. They have 30 points and are 7th in the Pacific. Gauthier has four points and 10 assists in 33 games and was benched twice in one game back in October. So he’s not exactly lighting the world on fire out there, nor are the Flyers. Don’t expect the greatest hockey game of all time. This one is on the road anyway. The one that counts is when William Quitter Gauthier comes to Philadelphia in about two weeks. That will be a good one. Get your lungs ready. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Boo this man! Boooooooooooo!
