The Philadelphia Eagles and Jefferson Health, an industry leader in clinical and compassionate care, have announced a multi-year agreement that will designate the healthcare system as a Proud Partner of the Philadelphia Eagles. As part of the fully integrated deal, Jefferson Health will receive sponsorship rights as the Official Health System Partner of the Philadelphia Eagles. As part of that recognition, Jefferson Health will have the exclusive right to have its logo on the team’s practice jerseys.

The partnership also includes logo integration on the Eagles’ home press conference backdrop and game presenting rights to the team’s Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer game on Sunday, October 13 versus the Cleveland Browns. The NFL’s Crucial Catch program aligns with the mission of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Jefferson Health, which is recognized as high performing in cancer care by U.S. News & World Report and is designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) for excellence in cancer care, prevention measures, and research.

The Eagles and Jefferson Health’s shared connection and commitment to the region will be enhanced through this long-term partnership. Together, both organizations will leverage their platforms in collaborative ways to benefit and improve the lives of fans, patients, partners, network members, and local residents.

In addition, Jefferson Health will receive a prominent branding presence at Lincoln Financial Field, which will include a dedicated activation space on Pepsi Plaza for fans to engage with on game days. Promotional support and exposure will also extend across the team’s digital, print, and social media platforms, radio advertising during Eagles game broadcasts, and integration into the team’s preseason telecasts.

Two main takeaways here. 1) Just happy to see something other than Independence Blue Cross on a Philadelphia sports jersey. Nothing against IBX, it’s just becoming too much. They’ve got the Flyers, Phillies, and Union. Let’s mix it up a bit here. 2) This is the beginning of the end. We’re going down the slippery slope. This patch only goes on the PRACTICE jerseys, but you know the Eagles will have a stupid advertisement on their GAMEDAY jerseys at some point in the near future. The NFL will fold and capitulate just like everyone else. They absolutely must stand strong against the dangers of wanton advertising, or else we’re not going to be able to watch a sport where the players wear clean uniforms with a name, number, and logo only. If you keep bending, these players are gonna look like walking billboards, and that’s corny. They’ll look like Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights.
