The 176th Grand National odds are now available at the best racebooks online! The field is down to 34 horses after 40 participated last year, which changes the entire dynamic from a betting perspective.
To improve safety for the horses and riders, six fewer runners are participating, and the first obstacle will be 60 yards closer. Also, The Jockey Club will introduce a standing start for the prestigious £1 million National Hunt steeplechase event.
Will this impact Corach Rambler’s chances after he cruised to a victory at Aintree Racecourse in 2023? Below, I explore the latest Grand National 2024 odds and share my predictions and top betting tips.
Grand National 2024 Odds
The following odds on the Grand National 2024 are courtesy of Bet365:
HORSE | ODDS |
---|---|
Corach Rambler | +550 |
I Am Maximus | +900 |
Vanillier | +1000 |
Kitty’s Light | +1400 |
Panda Boy | +1400 |
Mahler Mission | +1600 |
Meetingofthewaters | +1600 |
Capodanno | +2000 |
Galvin | +2000 |
Latenightpass | +2000 |
Minella Indo | +2000 |
Corach Rambler (+550) returns to Aintree Racecourse as the odds-on favorite to win the Grand National 2024. Last year, the +800 favorite pulled away to win the 175th running of the event.
The bookmakers give Corach Rambler an implied probability of 15.4% to win his second consecutive Grand National, based on the odds. Eight-year-old I Am Maximum (+900) is the next likeliest winner, with an implied chance to win the Grand National 2024 of 10%.
Top Favorites For The 2024 Grand National
It should be a close race this year, but the Grand National 2024 betting odds highlight three horses that stand above the rest. Let’s talk about them first.
Corach Rambler (+550)
Trainer Lucinda Russell has a good horse in Corach Rambler. The 10-year-old gelding made a name for himself last year at the Grand National 2023., after the horse had a late bid to win by 2 ¼ lengths at the wire.
It was the second consecutive win for Corach Rambler, as he won a month earlier at Cheltenham. Despite failing to win over his previous three wins since last year, Corach Rambler is coming off a strong showing at the Cheltenham Gold Cup once again.
Corach Rambler showed in 3rd as a +1400 runner against a competitive 11-horse field. Overall, dating back to January 2021, Corach Rambler has won 7 out of 16 races in his career1.

Winning back-to-back Grand National crowns is not easy. In 2019, Tiger Roll became the first horse to win consecutive Grand National titles since the 1970s.
Nevertheless, the latest 2024 Grand National odds give Corach Rambler the edge at +550. Jockey Derek Fox will run after a ruling for a whip infraction will be delayed until April 16.
I Am Maximus (+800)
Fresh off a historic 100th win at the Cheltenham Festival, Ireland’s Willie Mullins is looking to follow up this memorial season with a win in the Grand National. The legendary trainer won the Grand National in 2005 and 2019. He’s also a 17-time Irish Grand National winner!
Mullins has a big chance with I Am Maximus, though more money has flowed in on Corach Rambler’s Grand National odds. At +800, are you getting more value on I Am Maximus rather than the favorite?
This season, I Am Maximus has been in good form. He’s won two of six events and coming off a win on Feb. 24 at Fairyhouse in Ireland. Since April 10, I Am Maximus has won three of five assignments2 and enters the Grand National with plenty of momentum.
He’s won at +800, +1100, and even money most recently. With Mullins’ guidance and J S McGarvey’s experience in the saddle, I Am Maximus is a horse to shortlist for your 2024 Grand National best bets.
Vanillier (+900)
Vanillier is back at the Grand National looking to do one better than last year. The gelding put forth a big run but finished 2 ¼ lengths short of Corach Rambler.
He hasn’t won a race since November 2021, but has consistently run in contention. The nine-year-old trained by Gavin Cromwell is likely going to be in the mix on the final stretch again in the Grand National 2024.
A week in the life: Vanillier 💯

In 21 career races, Vanillier has finished 3rd or better in 13 events which equals 62%r3. The French gelding is on the heels of a strong showing to only finish behind I Am Maximum at Fairyhouse.
Is this the race where Vanlillier will finally win again? He’s a talented horse but needs that final kick in the stretch to overtake his foes.
Grand National 2024 Best Sleepers
I suggest adding some sleepers to your card when betting on the Grand National 2024. As the The Sports Geek’s horse racing betting guide advises, it’s always worth playing two or three long shots to your 2024 Grand Nationals picks!
Check out the best sleeper bets on the board for April 13 at Aintree Racecourse:
-
Galvin has been a profitable wager in his six-year career. With a 45%-win rate in 29 events up to this point, backing Galvin has paid off nicely for handicappers. We are getting some solid value on this gelding due to Galvin’s six-race losing streak.
As a +2500 underdog on Feb. 11, Galvin finished 4th at Navan in Ireland4. It was a stronger-than-expected performance, and it may carry over to the main event at Aintree in April.
-
Following two early wins in his career, Mr Incredible is winless in eight races. That being said, the horse has finished 2nd, UR, 3rd, and 2nd in his last four races.
Aside from the unseated rider in the Grand National 2023, Mr Incredible has been in fine form. He placed 2nd in his latest attempt at Uttoxeter at +600 on March 165. That prep race was a success and could lead to an even better result in the Grand National 2024.
-
As long as Jack Kennedy is on top of Conflated, he is typically a fast and competitive horse. The 10-year-old gelding has finished 3rd, UR, UR, and 3rd in his previous four starts.
Going back to April 2022, Conflated has finished in the top-3 in five out of six races that he’s complete6. If he can finish this race, there is a chance of being in contention.
Conflated outperformed his odds to win in those races rather easily, so I believe he has a chance of doing the same with his odds on the Grand National 2024.
Grand National 2024 Prediction and Betting Pick
Based on the latest odds, consider including I Am Maximus in your 2024 Grand Nationals predictions and picks.
With an elite trainer like Mullins and in top form lately, the horse is my best bet for the race. I believe the odds gap to Corach Rambler should’ve been much smaller.
Getting +800 for the horse is just too generous, so I’m backing I Am Maximus.
