Football accumulator tips for this weekend [26-27 October 2024]

Arsenal vs Liverpool is the standout fixture of the upcoming Premier League weekend, but there are some other intriguing matches to look forward to as well.

We have previewed five of the games taking place across Saturday and Sunday in our accumulator – why not follow along at home?

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £55, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £168.

Arsenal vs Liverpool: Both teams to score (4/6)

It is too early in the season to call this a Premier League title decider, and Manchester City are the favourites anyway.

Yet a win for Liverpool in particular would have a bearing on the race for the championship crown. Indeed, if Arne Slot’s side were to triumph on Sunday they would move seven points clear of Arsenal – a significant margin even in October.

The Gunners went down 2-0 to Bournemouth last time out and they will be without star centre-back William Saliba on Sunday due to suspension.

That aids Liverpool’s chances of finding the back of the net. It is worth noting, too, that even with Saliba Arsenal have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last four league outings.

At the same time, Mikel Arteta’s men will be confident of breaching Liverpool’s backline at the Emirates Stadium.

Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Hotspur: Tottenham to win (4/5)

Crystal Palace were one of the Premier League’s form teams at the end of last season, but they have had a nightmare start this time around.

A 1-0 defeat by Nottingham Forest last time out has left Palace without a win in their first eight games of the season.

Oliver Glasner desperately needs a victory to ease the pressure on his shoulders, but Tottenham Hotspur are tricky opponents.

It is true that Spurs blow hot and cold, but when they are on song they are one of the best teams in the division. They certainly showed what they can do in a 4-1 thumping of West Ham United in their previous London derby.

The underlying statistics, namely expected goals, put them behind only Liverpool in terms of overall performance this term.

Ange Postecoglou’s charges can take full advantage of Palace’s recent woes at Selhurst Park

⚽ Back Tottenham to win at 4/5 with bet365 ⚽

Manchester City vs Southampton: Man City to win in both halves (5/6)

Southampton raced into a 2-0 lead over Leicester City last weekend, but still they could not pick up their first win of the Premier League season.

A 3-2 loss to their fellow promoted side was a massive blow to Southampton, who are now odds-on favourites for relegation.

A trip to Manchester City is exactly what Russell Martin did not need this weekend. This could be another tough afternoon for the under-fire manager.

City have not lost at home for almost two years now and we anticipate one-way traffic at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Whichever way you look at it, this will surely be a comfortable 90 minutes for the champions. Pep Guardiola’s side are capable of winning this one without even getting out of second gear.

⚽ Select Manchester City to win in both halves at 5/6 with bet365⚽

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Wolverhampton Wanderers: Brighton to win (3/5)

Not for the first time, Brighton & Hove Albion are showing other mid-sized Premier League clubs how it is done.

A 1-0 defeat of Newcastle United last weekend moved them up to fifth in the table, fuelling hopes that Brighton can challenge for European qualification this term.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have much more modest ambitions. Along with Crystal Palace, Ipswich Town and Southampton, they are still waiting for their first victory of 2024/25.

By our reckoning, it is unlikely to come here. Brighton are not always the most consistent team in the division, but they have the bit between their teeth right now.

Confidence in the Wolves camp no doubt took a hit when they lost to a last-gap Manchester City winner last weekend. With their supporters behind them on the south coast, the hosts should take this one.

⚽ Tip Brighton to win at 3/5 with bet365 ⚽

Everton vs Fulham: Under 2.5 goals (10/11)

After losing each of their first four games, Everton have now gone the same number of matches unbeaten. That has eased the pressure on Sean Dyche, whose side now have a five-point buffer above the bottom three.

No one at Goodison Park will be getting ahead of themselves, but Everton have at least shown some grit and fight over the last month or so.

Fulham have had a mixed start to the campaign, winning three, drawing two and losing three of their first eight encounters.

They have lost their last two games in the Premier League, although Manchester City and Aston Villa made for tough opponents.

Fulham will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend, but Everton are bound to make life difficult for them.

This could be an attritional affair and goals are likely to be in short supply.

⚽ Go for under 2.5 goals at 10/11 with bet365 ⚽
