Do You Really Think the Eagles Would be Dumb Enough to Endorse a Political Candidate?

A Philadelphia Eagles/Kamala Harris advertisement that popped up in University City and other spots throughout town was reportedly the work of some shyster:

Anybody who thought this was real is a sucka! Do you really think the Philadelphia Eagles would endorse a political candidate and therefore alienate half of their fan base in the process? No. The Eagles have never endorsed a political candidate. The most political thing to happen to this team in the last 25 years is the rescinded White House invitation and all of the various position taking surrounding that, which was more of a player-oriented thing and had little to nothing to do with the front office or ownership, despite Jeffrey Lurie’s left leanings.

If you look at the bottom of the advertisement, you see a link to PhiladelphiaEagles.com/vote, which is a real page. It hasn’t been updated in what looks to be several months, since the latest information is about the Pennsylvania and New Jersey primaries. There is information on the page about voter registration, but no partisan mentions of any political parties. What’s funny is the thought that a Kamala advertisement would sway voters in University City. How many Republicans do you think live and work near 34th and Walnut? Five? Six? There are a few more of these ads that have been spotted in various other locations that are equally blue, so advertising for Democrats in Philadelphia feels more redundant than washing your hands after taking a shower.

Who do we think is responsible for this? I blame Jerry Jones. HughE says this:

EDIT: more here from NBC10, with statements from the city and advertising company noting that somebody broke into the shelters and illegally placed the ads
