Enzo Maresca’s first match in charge of Chelsea will see him have a reunion with Pep Guardiola.
The Blues will face Man City on the opening weekend, in a tough start for their new manager.
For the third season in a row, the Blues start their Premier League campaign with a new manager in the dugout.
After finishing sixth in the table, Chelsea parted ways with Mauricio Pochettino, with Maresca subsequently drafted in.
The Italian, who was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach at Manchester City, guided Leicester to the Championship title to see them return to the top-flight at the first time of asking.
And he will face the Foxes on November 23 with it remaining to be seen what reception he gets from his former adoring fans.
Maresca will first though have all his attention on Chelsea’s Premier League opener – with the west Londoners boasting a brilliant record from their first matches of a season.
Only Manchester United have won more than their 20 victories from their 32 top-flight matches since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.
In the last 32 years, they have lost on just five occasions – the last coming at Old Trafford in 2019.
Chelsea’s first five Premier League games of 2024/25 season:
18/08/2024: Chelsea v Manchester City (4:30pm)
24/08/2024: Wolverhampton v Chelsea
31/08/2024: Chelsea v Crystal Palace
14/09/2024: A.F.C. Bournemouth v Chelsea
