Bucs-Saints Injury Report: 2 Starters DNP, Kancey And Goedeke Returning?

It’s been a chaotic week for the Bucs as they evacuated from Tampa on Tuesday to avoid hurricane Milton and have been practicing in New Orleans at Tulane all week. As Tampa Bay balances thinking about the devastation at home with also trying to win a football game, they might potentially have some big time returns for their game against the Saints this Sunday.

Bucs fans have been waiting for defensive tackle Calijah Kancey to make his season debut and for right tackle Luke Goedeke to come back for the first time since Week 1. Their wish might be granted as Kancey and Goedeke each have been practicing in full on Wednesday and Thursday.

This is a big upgrade for Kancey in particular, who hasn’t participated in any capacity since injuring his calf just days before the season opener. He’d been seen standing around with the defensive tackles, but not warming up or stretching. Getting put back right into and going for the whole practice is a good sign for the Bucs.

Goedeke has been practicing over the past couple of weeks to varying degrees of participation. Clearing concussion protocol will be the last hurdle before he can play again.

While the news is better for Kancey and Goedeke, there are some other staters who did not practice on Thursday. Center Graham Barton was out each day with a hamstring injury. Running back Rachaad White was limited in practice on Wednesday but was downgraded to did not practice on Thursday due to a foot injury. This may see major adjustments coming to the run game if either player is unavailable.

Here is the full injury report from the Bucs and Saints on Thursday.
